This model is made from a old 7 inch matchbox toy. There is a lot of modification, if you are interested you can see some work in progress pic in that thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/515208.page

it's approximately the size of a imperial knight and with the chainsaw arms i made i could easily replace one.
Both arms are magnetized

hope you like it!

Awesome indeed but lacks the gothic industrial feel that 40k imperial stuff has. maybe a face plate or reshape of the visor would be all it would take regardless great work

Agreed. I looks like a nice model, but it would stand out in a 40k game as "not belonging."

Those Macross Destroids are such great designs. The Tomahawk was always second in my heart, after the Monster.

Now if someone would just make one a wee bit taller so I can use it as a Warlord.

Yamato made a 1/60 Prototype of the Monster, but decided there was not enough interest. The next largest model I have seen is the one you uploaded pictures of.

It would have easily been massive enough for a Warlord.

There are bigger destroids than the old Exosquad ones. Yamato made 1/60 versions of both the Tomahawk and the Defender. I've used them both as Knights. The Tomahawk could probably be used as a Warhound. There is someone making 3d printed Tomahawks at something around 1/50-1/55 scale, 10" tall.

The Yamato Tomahawk, about 8.5" tall.

This looks fantastic!
I don't think it looks out of place at all in the 40k world!
Out of place within the cyber-gothic-skull-gilded imperium, perhaps. But certainly right in line with one of the fringe-worlds that might ally with the tau or demiurge. I can easily imagine this kind of technology finding a home in the "argentum corporation" (descended from the auretian technocracy of 30K).

This world... this fallen world... it just wasn't ready for such beauty

Back on topic, great great job with the Matchbox version, the chainsaw arm looks fantastic.

I did love robottech/battletech back in the day. I think the MAC II monster was one of my favorites - partly because it was so strange. I think it would work better in 40K than most of the range.
