Toy Conversion is a big part of our hobby it allow us to show creativity and practice our skill on cheaper model. I really like seeing toys conversion its pretty inspiring.
I really would like to see yours, so post them here!

I'll start
this is my latest conversion, its a 2$ tank. Even if its a cheap toy i didn't have to do a lot to make it look good.I dont really use it but i guess it could count as a chimera.

This one i made long ago i dont like it that much its base on a 5$ tank. i guess it could be used as a bane blade proxy :

This one is my first conversion its base on a neoshifter toys that i got at my old job.I think I improve a lot since then.

I'm envious of your toy finds, let alone the converted/painted results. The only things I find for those prices are utter garbage in a useless scale. Those of equivalent quality tend to be "cheaper" model kits, which cost 5-10 times as much. Am I just going to the wrong stores?

Thanks for the links. I'll have to have a look around after work. Bookmarks may be in order, if not an immediate purchase.

A problem I run into all the time when looking for toys to convert is I can't wrap my brain around the model, because I'm too caught up in the paint.

Also, it's hard to imagine what something COULD be. That Neoshifter, if Google isn't lying to me, is a Mega Blocks thing. I would have never guessed that, now.

Cool finds and conversions.
If you don't mine I'll just post two of my ones.
Below; These were originally those die cast metal, pull back cars that you get form the 99p Store in England ($0.99 store). Was looking at them and I thought that they would look cool as light combat/patrol vehicles. So after some hacking with a hacksaw, some plas-card and bits from the bits box, a coat of paint, I got a squad of three of these which every one loves at my LFGS.

This was once a Decepticon, Megetron I thing. You know the Megatron that looked like an Osprey. Well after striping it down and out I built a plas-card rear hull, new cockpit (with canopy), gravity repulser drives and the modeled some sentinel Lascannons on it to make an awesome counts as Vendetta.

This is a pretty cool idea, those same miniatures skills can be applied to other stuff too.

Does this count?

This is a custom figure I did recently.
Turned out a little grainy, perhaps a bit too heavy on the primer, but it really shows up in the photograph a lot more than it looks like that in real life

Ah, that be the MK IV Battle Angel. A (heavily) converted sentinel that counts as my Pasks LRBT exterminator. You'll find that in my gallery
I've been ordered to stop making such cool conversions by every one at my FLGS because I keep showing them up

Sgt Jean,
Really Great work there. I'm a big fan of plastic toys myself and use them for a good portion of my terrain and some models also. One thing I would recommend for anyone using toys made from soft plastics of the type that army men are made from. Krylon Camo sprays are made to stick to plastic which otherwise tends to resist paint and flake off.

Here's a few of mine.
FIsher Price dump to Sci-Fi truck

Mining buildings from Cheap Toy train grain elevator and Target toy barn.

I've also made a huge number of post apoc cars from 1/43 die cast, but that's a whole other thread.

Lascannon Carriages made from Toy soldier cannons.

Ork Big Gun

This is a toy conversion that I did to make an Ork steam powered cannon for my Snakebites.

I pulled it apart, not easy, as it was glued. I cut off the lower jaw and made it articulated. Removed the tongue to use as the ammo feed. Added some gubbins, including a LEGO barrel. The black "rivets" are 2mm fingernail decorations. And finally, I removed the outer wheels.

Gronckle vs Gronckle Cannon from How to Train Your Dragon 2. The toy was $8 at Walmart.

I saved the Gronckle model to convert to an Attack Squig.

I've got an entire thread dedicated to my urban terrain, almost all of which is based on toys like a Parking Garage, Hot Wheels Launcher, Geo-Trax Train station, toy trucks and more.

Thanks guy for necro'ing this tread
I working on a new toy conversion this one took me a lot of time and its far from over i want to put a lot more detail into it

I use a matchbox 7'' robotech toy calle the tomahawk(i love that design)but as you can see the toy pose is a bit stiff

So i decide to cut it and make joint for the leg so they look articulate.I also make magnetic joint for the arms so i can change weapon(you can see the half done chainsaw near the feet).
i fill all the gap and the screw hole with milliput. I also made some little change to the design. My main goal is to make that toys look more like a model than a toys

What next:
make more weapon arms
put rivet to give a ww2 feel
put mags under the arms canon
add more detail

Awesome work on the Tomahawk (aka "Warhammer" to Battletech fans). I love what you've done with reposing and a bit of greebling. It really brings it to life.

I have the same toy, but was much lazier. I just posed it and gave it to my buddy to paint.
Here it is next to a Gasraki model
http://www.jlopatin.com/pictures/2014/littlewars_2014/photos/P4263862.jpg
I've also got The Longbow and Rifleman (More BT names) done up along with a slew of other mecha that work pretty well in our 28mm "Mech Attack" games.

If you want to see more there's a batrep with lots of pics here from one of our convention games:
