I was just wondering how viable is this gimmick? I use to hear all the rage when they first came out with the helbrute formations. Is worthless now?

In a setting where a CAD is not required and you can take detachment formations, how well does an all helbrute formation do in 7th ed meta?

So just a bunch of Murderpacks and Mayham and skipping the helcult.

You could just do three murderpacks all with powerfist ad multi-melta... but then you're just spamming and being a bit boring, but maybe it would be fun for you or your opponent?

That being said, if he can stomach painting 15+ Helbrutes, I say he deserves at least a few spamming games.

It could work in some cases, but I think it will be a rock-paper-scissor scenario - More so than regular games. There are 2 ways it can go:

a) You meet a list that isn't that fit to handle such level of AV and you devastate the opponent, as you are practically immune to the list.
b) You meet a list that is good at taking out vehicles, and the game ends in turn 2 as you have a couple of Helbrutes left, that are running for their lives.
