Is this not a crime that screams out for a jail sentence?

Don't know the facts behind his mental state though - news articles will not say anything beyond the basics - The psychologists report would have a great deal of weight behind the sentence handed down.

What and how he is charged also depends on what the CPS thinks they can prove. And how the defendant pleads - early guilty pleas usually mean a lower sentence.

Still, from what is presented in the article, a stay at a secure health unit could have been warranted.

Again, I do not have all the facts at my disposal.

As Mr. Burning said, there's a lot we don't know about this case. But yes, an early plea tends to reduce sentences, and there are the psychologist reports to consider, which we do not know the details of.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

He was caught before a watershed age. So it was a minor commiting these offences.

This is only a part explanation because while a 30 year old kissing a 15 year old will face jailtime, an 18 year old kissing the same girl has a GF.

These images were of pre teens, and that is very different, but a lot of it could be lulz rather than sex, and society understands that up to a point.
The point being given mental health treatment, rather than just putting the offender in prison.

I very much doubt it was an affluenza defence, and while Eton allumni have an easy road to opportunity in the Uk at the moment, the Tories arent too suicidal as to be chummy with this one.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Forgot about his age (For some reason I only ever think of Etonians as ready made smary 40 somethings) And yeah, he could have had the images for a reason that isn't purely one of sexual gratification.

2 year olds and kids being raped is perhaps a bit much, regardless of context...

I'm having recollections over what happened to a 18 year old guy who was dating a 14 year old at my school now.

And no, there isn't a need to elaborate on that beyond that he stopped dating her.
