You know, I had a dream that GW released a bunch of softcover codexes for 8th edition, and 8th edition was revamped to be like AoS. I was actually happy with that dream...it needs to come true.

god I hope not. "hey guys! tournament players whine a lot! let's no longer have point costs, and simply the rules to ridiculous levels! totally worked well for the fantasy player base!"
GWs bad, but they've only been that bad once. And since that one time, they've arguably been taking baby steps in the right direction.

Actually, in my dream, everything still had points costs. But the rules were simplified, and there were no more 10 million unit types and 10 bajillion special rules.

Well, GW is a miniature making company selling miniatures to collectors. The codices can be merely seen as a service to the customers. Sounds strange to me but seems to be reality atm.
Not sure if 40k gets the AoSification. I wouldn't mind.
