So I've got the 30k bug, and am planning on doing up an all Jump Pack 30k Blood Angels force using their RoW for an all jump pack, true Descent of Angels style force.

The hiccup for me at present is finding sufficient numbers of Mark IV jump packs to begin this process. Using Betrayal at Calth plastic bodies/models + the Mark IV jump packs I can build them to look good, and picking up a few extra Blood Angels shoulder pads from plastic kits or Forgewold won't be terribly troubling either.

I know that I can get some proper mark IV jump packs from the Sanguinary guard box and simply not use the wing attachments. That is my plan in point of fact, failing no other option presents itself. I've been trawling ebay for weeks looking for them from bits sellers to no avail. I've also consulted other bits companies like Anvil industries and the like with no real alternative offered being what I want either.

Does anyone know if FW sells just jump packs? I've emailed FW directly but haven't received anything beyond their automatic reply regarding this.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Just curious. Thanks for any input or feedback in advance folks.

I asked this when I was at Warhammer World and sadly, they only sell full kits.

Keep looking on eBay. I've seen sanguinary guard jump packs on there. It's just a matter of catching them before they are sold.

I got a couple for an old project Im not using. PM me your address and we'll work something out.

There are also the various third party bits makers.

This is what I've used on my Calth marines. They look good, but I have to admit, they don't look as good as proper MKIVs. But I'm happy with them.

Yeah, I looked at all the bits makers I could think of, and that was the only MkIV substitute I could find. Lots of options for the standard twin engine jump pack, though.

The only viable way in all honesty would be to make resin molds of the jump pack bits, to get them in the numbers you want. I know it's not quite "proper" but it's the only way I can think of.

There is the option of converting them.

Short of casting or converting them, and I'm not above converting them I'll note, just don't want to spend a year on conversions alone, I'll probably continue to trawl e-bay and also contact a few bits sellers directly to see what kind of deal they'll cut me on getting sanguinary guard jump packs five at a time.

I have had a fellow Dakka-ite offer to send me a few packs to get me started, which I appreciate greatly. If I can come up with a better source for packs that doesn't involve casting I'll be sure to post up here and let folks know what I find.
