Hi all,
After hearing about a small RT tournament near by I dug out my old 2nd edition Tyranids and dusted them off.
However, looking at what I have here I'm struggling to make a list that will even stand up to a strong breeze.
The models from that time are somewhat limited to say the least for options.

So, I appeal to the good people of dakka for help.
I need to essentially make the best of what seems like an impossible but fun challenge.

Rundown and list of what I have available:

Hive tyrant with bonelash and venom
Hive tyrant with bonelash and stranglethorn

6 zoanthropes
3 Lictors

8 warriors with devourers
1 warrior with venom
1 warrior with barbed
5 warriors with bonelash
5 warriors with twinbone
All above warriors also have rending claws.

30 spike rifle temagants
40 hormagaunts

20 gargoyles
25 spore mines

6 Biovores
5 carnifex's - being 2nd Ed they have twin talons.

Personally I really can't find a way of doing this, but hopefully I'm overlooking something.

Lists are 1,850 points.
Being an old school tournament its also limited to a single basic FOC.
So 1-2 HQ, 0-3 elite, 2-6 troop, 0-3 fast and 0-3 heavy.

Hopefully you guys can help please.

I thought you were playing 2nd ed rules, and that made me curious :-D

I don't really think you can do a competitive list for 7th edition with these models. One sad thing is that dakka flyrants are so much better than everything else in the codex.

Least bad I can think of is some sort of zerg style army. If you bring all carnifex they might draw enough fire to let your warriors and hivetyrant live long enough to keep the army in shape until you are on top of your enemy. But it's not really a useful strategy and you have pretty much nothing to use agains flyers and very little against transports and tanks.

Maybe try to repost this in the army-list section. You will probably get better help there.
