Made a "strict" to do list for the rest of the month. Need to finish magnetising/assembling Razorback, painting it's interior, assembling 20 shock troops, finish painting bloodsecrator and putting basecolor on 10 bloodreavers, tinker with magnets on sponsors (this will most likely lead to me ripping off the glued parts), aaand, if there's still time, doing some airbrush fun. :(

Poison Ivy ended up winning my poll, so I've started work on her.

I tried using the Vallejo airbrush surface primers, kinda curious to see how they'll go and if they're any better than using standard spray paints.

I also don't know whether to go for the Arkham style green skin, or just a more normal skin tone. Maybe a normal skin tone with a green glaze afterwards?

Had a game of pulp alley tonight. Buck Spencer along with some agents and mercenaries managed to secure a sound victory over the gorilla gangsters by liberating the processor from the clutches of the traitorous Lady Elaine. First half of the game was decidedly in my opponent's favor but some crack shots and daring plot point seizure in addition to most of his goons going out once they were down (chance you can get back up after being taken out but be was failing those a lot, we blamed the desert heat), buck and company managed a sound win.

It was a very rewarding victory as I've finally saved enough XP over a dozen games to level up Buck and my league's rep broke into the next tier and they've got an extra slot for another basic follower.

Got probably half the campaign left.

Going to give D&D Basic a test drive. Might also get a game of Axis and Allies in too.
On a side note, anyone know any free software or websites for creating D&D maps?

I'm thinking the spray on undercoat has ended up making the model look a little, well, kinda grainy?

I think I need to work out how to mix it better?

So, my plan next is. Thin downed reikland fleshshade over, well, all the flesh. Then VERY, VERY thinned down Biel-Tan green at certain points on the skin - where the shirt meets the skin, I think, and a few other points. Just so that it has a kinda plant-ish tone without it being well, completely green, which I wasn't a huge fan of.

There is not this idea.

I got a new tube of my favorite blue paint!

Everyone's gonna be blue now. Yes, blue rats. Blue elves. Blue roofs on a blue blue house and...

Oh god now I've got a song from the 90's stuck in my head. What have I done. What have I done.

Just got the Deathwatch boxed game. Thinking seriously about trying to work local swaps for some of the more delicate pieces. That biker with the eagle/hawk/whatever will be snapped within the first couple of plays.

EDIT: I mean the flying hawk piece is so fragile (cool-looking but fragile) that I wouldn't want to mess with it.

Painting scions for an escalation league. I am going with the 43rd iotan dragons for the paint scheme.
Sadly the pics are on my phone. They are great models and look pretty cool though. When putting them away I realized just how small humans are in 40k though. Zagstrukk's choppa is almost the size of a scion...

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly

Today I am mostly waiting on the postie, to see if they'll bring my Deathwatch box, and a bunch of bits to get a proper start on my fantasy warband projects.

I dip me hands in warm water before mixing GS. Helps loosen the knuckles and wake up the fingers for a session of fiddly putty work (blimey I sound ancient) and the heat soon gets transferred to soften up the GS.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Played three games of 8th edition at Rushed Rumble, one win, two defeats, not bad since the last time I played warhammer was Rushed last year, and haven;t run my Bretonnians for some two years...

Great fun as always.

Also soaked and scrubbed some FoW BM-13 Katyusha, after attempting to build one and finding superglue just wouldn't go off on it - still perfect for sticking to fingers though after ten minutes. Sigh, have had a few go like this and just know these will now be an utter pig to build.

So, this is how Poison Ivy is going after week 1.

My latest stage was trying to give her skin a greenish tinge. I think I mostly succeeded alright, there were a couple of points (mostly on her hands) that went a bit overboard.

So, that was with Waywatcher Green glaze, I found an attempt at using the shade overdid it a little. - I'll be layering it next, which is going to be interesting. Ideally it'd be mostly normal skin with the layering (I'll need to be VERY careful where I'm painting, but hopefully practice with superman should help there.). But I'll see if I can put a little greenness into there too without overdoing it.

Assembled four BM-13 rocket mortars from Battlefront and primed them a mix of Soviet green and black to try to avoid a black wash being needed.

Having built both these and the Zvezda versions it hard to say which is worse, Zvezda is fiddly beyond reason in this scale with a silly parts count to make whats not a bad model, not amazing but not bad, especially for the price.

The battlefront one is horrible to build, metal and resin thats apparently designed to be assembled by someone with five hands, while someone else with another nine holds it all in place - but it does look a bit more solid.

Even bent the bits back and touched up the wall after throwing one of them (kidding)

Found a trencher grenadier and storm gunner model* at my LGS today, put them together along with fixing a MK1 Ironclad and putting two trenchers on bases.

Ordering the other two trencher grenadiers tonight and maybe the final blister of trenchers I need.

*I started back in MK1 days and dropped out before MK2, the "full unit" boxes didn't exist back then. I've recently started to get back more heavily into WM hence my desire to find these.

I just played a game of 40k, if you can call it a game. My opponent gave up after just one turn against my Tau. Of course, when I erased half his army (Kytan went down to my Stormsurge's D missiles, and a lot of the rest of my army's shooting took out one of his D-thirsters) after the only thing he managed to kill was my Devilfish, I kind of understand. Maybe when I get more Tau stuff I can leave the Stormsurge at home and still have enough points to make a fun 1850 game.
