How big is the average dakka army? Post the units you have for your main faction, small detachments from other armies are fine, as long as they make sense i.e. not space marines + Orks.
I currently have 26+ units of chaos/daemon/renegade. Is this an average size for an entire army? We shall see...

Interesting way of looking at it.
Kinda rough to put an exact count on it. Do I squadron my land speeders? Combat squad tac/assault/dev squads? Every HQ is a separate unit by the rules.
By conservative counts, I’m still in the 50+ bracket. That’s without really getting into the HQs. And just my Ultras.

If we're counting ICs and Dedicated Transports as separate units, I run about 14.

I went with the conservative units i.e. all my bezerkers in one unit, same with cultists, possessed and CSM. Without those conservations I have more like 40+ units.

Harlequins 3troops,7elites,2fa,1hs
cad eldar and/or de 1hq 1-2troops,1-3 elite/fa/hs/low
So around 13-20 units for 1500-2000 pts games.

Mine is about 10% bigger than the average Space Marine army.
Jokes aside, I have about 250 IGuard infantry, mostly split between old metal Cadians and old metal Steel Legion. So that is 25ish units right there, and a small cache of tanks and APCs for them, 6 Sentinels, etc. Another 20-30 Squats that are IGuard stand-ins. About 120-150 Space Marines, though many of them are older metal models I wouldn't use anymore because they're too short, but haven't convinced myself to sell off. After that I have about two dozen tanks and vehicles, dreadnoughts, etc.
So if I were to assemble an Imperium of Man force, somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 units, assuming each would be built at full strength. Or, in simpler terms, way too many.

I was just looking at some of my old army list pictures and counting units, and came to similar numbers. A lot depends on the style of list of course. But 1 unit per 100 points seemed a decent average.

i have at least 3 of each unit maxed out in the eldar codex except for Banshees and Shining Spears. I am probably in the 50+ range with the amount of points I sport in an apocalypse game.

At first I thought that the poll was asking how many units I have in an army that I'd actually play a game with, not the amount of units in my complete collection. I rarely field more than 10 units in a 1850 pt game, my DA collection consists of about 45 units or so.
