Well, do or have you?
Which ruleset?
I'm familiar with Field of Glory, Impetus and DBM; who has even heard of these?

Well, I've got two forces for DBA (EIR and Ancient British) that I've yet to get a game in.
I'm also looking through a copy of L'art de la Guerre (LADG) which seems to be taking off as a potential follow up to FoG's decline.

I have heard of all three!
15mm ancients has been on my "to do" list, but I never quite get around to them. I think all the basing shenanigans of the past have put me off a bit.

We're looking at playing Hail Caesar! in 15mm. I'll have a EIR force if we decide to do that.

If you base them along DBX conventions, not only will you be able to use them in games with those basing requirements (which there are plenty of), but you'll also be able to use them with scale/basing independent games like Hail Caesar.

Seconded.
DBA is a good rulebook sta start with because you only need a small army and it's quick play rules.
You can expand your army with more units and play Big Battle DBA or a more complicated game like Field of Glory or Hail Caesar.

I don't really play, because I have no opponents, but I have 15mm Gallic and Marian Roman armies in varying stages of incomplete.
I've based them for Field of Glory, but again, no games with them.

Big fan of the DBx games, especially DBA and its fantasy cousin HoTT. There is a reason so many other games utilize DBA basing conventions!
I strongly recommend getting a few friends together and trying it out.

Greeks and Persians using Warmaster Ancients and Hail Caeser.
Not quite ancients but also do First Crusades using Soldiers of God, which has its Roman vs Barbarian version in playtesting.

15mm Ancient Armies I have got:
Incas (DBA)
Early imperial Roman (DBA)
Old/Middle Kingdom Egyptian (WRG)
They all need some updating and re-organisation for DBA 3 and FoG.

I played DBM for years and then FOG until a couple of years ago. I've also played Impetus.
Then I wrote my own rules - Sword & Spear.
You can find more about them by reading some reviews here:

There are lots of battle reports on the forum so you can get an idea what the game looks like and how it plays:

What basing shenanigans ? There has been a pretty much industry standard basing system for big battle 15mm ancients & medieval gaming for years - 40mm frontages. If you stick to this convention you can play just about any game. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Happy to oblige. Here's a few pictures from some 15mm Sword & Spear games:

Romans vs Germans (Strasbourg 357AD refight):

A strong recccomendation for DBA/DBM/HotT. A great place to look into it is at WADBAG; http://www.wadbag.com have published a guide on how to play that explains the game meticulously. DBA covers practically every army from the Dawn of History to around 1492.
A few years back, we used to play DBA in Central Ohio frequently.... I haven't played it lately.

I've played Hoplite Greeks, Ancient British, and Early Crusader armies using DBM. Unfortunately, I never really liked DBM so I eventually drifted away towards other historical games (WWII, ACW, etc.). I've also got a copy of the FoG rules, but I could never get any local interest going so I've never actually played it. I've also got a copy of Warmaster Ancients which I bought because I love the original Warmaster Fantasy rules, but again I've never gotten anyone to try it out with me.

I have the FOG and DBA rules and was working on two armies for DBA - the classic Republican Roman vs Carthaginian matchup. I also have enough loose Spartan 15mm's to make an army if I were to get around to it.
ATM I have been concentrating on 28mm Napoleonics and WH 30k and with my glacial painting speed I doubt I'll have those projects done much before late 2017...so my Romans and Carthaginians are facing off against each other on a cardboard box collecting dust. (#unpaintedleadawarenessmonth)

What minis do you have for the Carthiginians and Romans Dethork?
I've recently picked up the L'Art de la Guerre rulebook after hearing very good things about it, although have yet to try.
Can I ask where you've got those 15mm Imperial Romans from?

DBM seems to be the most popular game around my area for ancient stuff, and has DBA as a nice intro level game.
I never really got on with it myself, I've always found the combat resolution to be a bit too complicated. In my experience the player who could remember which type of unit does what, against which other type of units the best normally wins.
Then I discovered Sword and Spear, which I love.
As for models, I have ancient British and early imperial romans. All are based to DBM numbers, but have been sat near the back of my "to be painted" list for a long time. I'm tempted to see if I could get them painted by a commission company, but I've never really heard of anyone the specialises in these types of models.
Out of interest what model lines do people go for? I have a mix of tin soldier company, Essex miniatures and the now discontinued Corvus Belli stuff myself.

It's such a shame that Corvus Belli stopped making their 15mm Ancients. I wish they would sell the moulds to someone else.
There have over the decades been many ranges of 15mm but Corvus Belli were some of the best.
I've got a mixture of old school Minifigs (Early Imperial Romans), Naismith (Incas), Corvus Bellis (EIR), unknown Ancient Egyptians (bought off eBay), plus some as yet unpainted packs of Saracens and Crusaders from Gladiator Games now produced by Black Hat Miniatures.
Navwar's Inca range by Naismith went OOP for a while and is now back in production, Navwar having sold the range to a new company called Naismith and Roundway.

I've got 10mm Poles and Turks for FoG:R. Not ancients exactly, I know.
My group went with Pendraken due to cost and we had an accessable way to get them.
Of course I have never played it yet...so hard to get games into a rotation when your gaming time is limitied.

Funny story - I was at a convention last summer and, having finished up with a friendly SAGA tournament, decided to wander around the vendor hall. I was walking past one booth when a yellow box caught my eye. Lo and behold, it was a Corvus Belli Ancient British DBA box. I bought it immediately!

I think my Hoplites were from Old Glory (Its been so long, I'm not totally sure). My Byzantines, British and Crusaders were all from Museum Miniatures in the UK.
