I was going through my minatures with a neighbor, he said these guys were Warhammer fantasy but wasn't sure who they are.. i thought they were just cool looking minis when I bought them.

Unfortunately I can only help with the first regiment with swords and books. Those are old school Realm of Chaos Slaanesh Warriors. Back then each metal model was very unique from each other. It's interesting to have a unit comprised entirely of one sculpt.

I would visit the Stuff of Legends site and some of the other archive sites which show lots of pictures of old minis.

I agree that the 2nd figure (bearded figure) looks like an Empire Flagellant.

The dudes with beards and flails in thee second pictures are indeed the metal empire flagellants (4th/5th edition).

Can't identify any other. (It's also extremely annoying to have the pictures turned sideways)
