I recently have been running a semi successful list of tau and Dark angels mainly ravenwing with a libby on a bike and a small grav gun squad. Tau fills in the gaps. In bigger games i throw some DW termies and ezekiel etc. However i am not finding termies very effective. What synergies would you recommend for dark angels and tau.

Riptide Wing.

If you're willing to bring a CAD and Markerlights, then a Stormsurge.

A Protoss colony world

I had thought of this idea a while back, and I came up with the idea of taking a Ravenwing Strike Force to be the mobile element of the army, with Tau as the stationary gunline part. If you take a Tau CAD, you can take the aforementioned Stormsurge provided you also bring some lights. This can get kind of expensive points wise. The Riptide Wing suggestion is probably a good one, as well. I might take a Tau Allied Detachment with either an Ethereal or Fireblade, a Riptide, 1-2 10 man Fire Warrior Strike Teams (preferably with the tactical turrets), a Pathfinder team, and a Sky Ray. Fill in the rest of the list with Ravenwing. Put the Fire Warriors in some kind of cover, preferably near objectives, and blast away while the Ravenwing go forth and destroy stuff. I think you might be able to do it even better with Farsight Enclaves, as you can take Crisis units as your troops (you will want to take a Commander since you can't take Ethereals in a FSE list and the Fireblade is useless without Fire Warriors).

My first ever tournament list was Tau and Dark Angels, by the way. I got roflstomped, but I was brand new to the game back then! I could probably make it work these days.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

Tau into bikes is rough for the bikes. They've got the strength to top T5 and ignores cover out the ass.
