Warm greetings to all in the Dakkadakka community.

I have been aware of Dakkadakka for a number of years, but only recently registered as a member. Typically I would find myself here when doing random google image searches for miniatures and being wowed by some of the creations that people have uploaded on this site, so I feel that I am joining some honoured ranks here.

My wargaming history has been everything Games Workshop. I have dabbled in WHFB, 40K, Necromunda, Blood Bowl (wonderful game), Inquisitor (also wonderful), Mordheim and some of the RPGs. The current limitations of my wallet means that I'm not collecting any large-scale army at the moment, but I do have a number of (mostly converted) Blood Bowl teams, and I still dream of the day I can field an Imperial army in 40K with my inquisitor at the head of it.

One side of the hobby I've never really set aside is the modelling and painting, though I've tended to focus less on painting units/regiments and more on single character models and trying to make them look as good as I can. I love painting and sculpting stuff, and I'm keen to get better at both.

I don't know how likely it is, but one thing I'm hoping to do (possibly via Dakkadakka) is find a group of enthusiastic painters in Cardiff or thereabouts (my local area), or – failing that – to actually form one! It would be great to meet other aspiring hobbyists and come together to work on our projects and share tips and suggestions.

At the very least it will be good to learn from the collective talent and wisdom available on here. So greetings again to the Dakkadakka community – I am glad to be here.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
