I suspect I might be overthinking this, but does anyone have any recommendations on how to ork up some grappling and harpoon guns? I have some ideas, but I wouldn't mind some pictures for inspiration.

I'm also not sure how make the actual grappling hooks - I tried a while ago to green stuff a hook, but I didn't like the way it came out. Grappling hooks should be easy, just roll into a thin tube and bend it.

But again, if anyone has some good examples of scratchbuilt hooks / harpoons, or suggestions on what preexisting bits to use (I'm thinking some dark eldar-y) would be helpful.

You could do this without green stuff. Take a paper clip or bit of sturdy wire and snip it into three equal length bits. Bend the bits into hook shapes and then glue them together in a grappling hook shape. Insert the glued bit into a plasticard tube and snip any gun into looking like it would launch such a thing.

If you want a harpoon, just cut a spear-like shape from plasticard and repeat the gun process. Greenstuff isn't totally necessary. But then I cant sculpt with the stuff, so I need to figure out other ways to do things.

Look for Gorkanorka trukks, they had spear guns.

Yeah, wire is a good idea, better than green stuff I think. And Harpoon guns shouldn't be hard - in fact, there's a cybork harpoon arm that would do nicely, I think.

I would think fishing hooks would solve your problems. A small treble hook would make a nice grappling hook. Maybe file down the point a bit avoid a snag...
