Simple question.

If I am playing a doubles game and both my partner and I are running KDK, do we both benefit from blood tithes of each other.

Example I build up enough token to give everything with BftBG rule +1 attack. Does this mean that his army gets +1 attack also.

Also if I generate a blood tithe does this mean he does also?

I would assume so but wanted to make sure.

The rules do not, in any real way, cover team games.

My personal opinion would be that they don't, unless the KDK rules are worded such that a KDK vs. KDK match would mean both players gaining the Tithe bonuses of the other.

Discuss with your gaming group to see what they think.

As Quanar stated, the rules of the game don't really address team play, but the way I would play it is that both KDK players would have access to a single Blood Tithe "pool".

Blood tithe is gained whenever one of your own or one of your opponents units/characters are completely destroyed.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The book does say all units with BftBG get it so it might be everyones units get it that have that special rule. Would be interesting. Might not be RAI but RAW it would affect all of them.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Talk to your opponents and your team mate and decide between you. However I would say that all KDK players get the buffs because the rule states that all units with BFTBG get the reward rather than just units in your army get the reward.

Thanks for the replies.

Got a chance to look at my dex again. With the wording of Blood Tithe. It looks like every one playing KDK would gain a blood tithe point when one of the two stipulations is achieved.

Whereas when you expend points you and your partner (if they are also playing KDK) should get the benefits of the first 4 rewards on the table. Since it says "All friendly units with the BftBG special rule..." I would assume your partner would be considered friendly.

I'm going to ask the group next time we get together, I just wanted to see if anyone else has come across this and what was decided.

I've found it helpfully balancing to consider an entire team to be "one player" in the eyes of the rules, using an army built of many different detachments. In this way, you have two KDK detachments, would only gain points as a team, but any points spent would apply to both detachments.

Agreed. The easiest way to handle team games is to consider each team to be one army with different people making tactical decisions for different units. Doing otherwise can give unfair advantages to certain army configurations. Gaining double Blood Tithe points is a good example.

If you don't want to add in your own House Rules for it, then this is the only approach.

The main question I would have is this, "Will you both have a Warlord, or will just one of you have the Warlord for both players?"

If you both have a Warlord, you are not the same army, so do not share Blood Tithe Pool any more than you sharing your opponent's.

If you have only one Warlord between you, then you have one army, and then you would share Blood Tithe Pools. Other rules would have to be made up to account for multiple armies on one side, though.

Does that make sense?

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Being seperate armies wouldn't change the fact that the two armies are friendly towards each other and would therefore benefit from "all friendly units with the BFTBG rule".

True, but not my point. My point was about the Pools themselves. If you have two players in a normal 2-player game both playing KDK, then they both will be accruing Blood Tithe points at the same rate. Effectively doubling the power one KDK army can bring in and use BT points, even though they were only the same events.

Our local GW usually holds a team tourney every other month. My friend and I run a SW/BA combo.

But for the next one we want to change it up slightly. I have also have a small KDK army and we were thinking about proxying his BA as KDK. Usually people dont have an issue with proxying. My entire army is modeled with chaos models but built on the SW dex, no issues so far.

The tourney setup specifies that there is only one warlord per side not per player.
