Hello,

Tonight I had a brain storm for a diorama I wish to make and have been looking around for a round or oval wooden display base.

Now I have found several online but most are just too small. I'm looking for a maybe 8-10 inch one, I'm. UK based and open to all sorts of ideas and suggestions oh I should mention I'm looking for something that won't bankrupt me too haha !

Thanks for your time.

Here in the US we can find such things at craft stores like Hobby Lobby or The like. Try your local craft store there in the UK.

That's a good idea actually our local hobby store is Hobby craft here in the UK that may be a good place to go check out, thanks !

I have Googled it and found the odd one but nothing solid yet.

You could make your own.
buy lumber of the type you want. and have it cut to size. usually big box stores will cut it for you though not sure about the uk.

or some times you can find cut offs to do it with.

Alternatively depending on the style you are looking for.

Asian plinths and display things can work well. and on ebay can be reasonably priced (just avoid the "antique" kinds)

another alternative is picture frames.

If you want big and flat look online for Fish/mounting plaques, they come in about the right size you need as well as bigger and smaller, and can be simple or decorative around the edges.
