I played a game with 5 imperial knights in it (4 from opponent, 1 from me).

Turn 3, my knight charges one of his. Simultaneous sixes on the D-table, both of them explode.

Catastrophic explosions set off two other knights, then the other, and in the process kill every. single. model on the table.

I had a Big Mek with shokk attack gun sitting in ruins with a unit of lootas. 8 chaos terminators with Cypher were looming right next to them, after they had just destroyed one of my big units of nobs and consolidated forward.

My lootas had already fired down the field at a unit of noise marines and the shokk attack gun was ready to fire at them also. Rolled for the Strength, and got the result were all models within d6 are removed from play. Rolled a 6. So not only did I lose all of my lootas, but I also took out Cypher and all 8 of those chaos termies.

Totally random but completely worth it.

It was pretty spectacular. Never saw so many 6's on the D table in my life.

I had a Dark Angel Ravenwing Command squad ready to charge a Solitaire in a ruin. My opponent wanted to soften up the target so he made rapid-fire shots with the only two bikes that could see him. Three wounds turn into three unsaved wounds and the Solitaire dies. Problem for my opponent was he was banking on the charge to get out of the open. Instead I mass charged his squad and wiped it out.

No one expected four Bolter shots to kill an uninjured Solitaire just like that. Very weird.

You can just see the command squad of each army in a frigate in orbit.

Commander: "Huh... that's... I mean... we did achieve what we tried to do, right?"
Sergeant: "Did we win?"
Commander: "... I don't think we lost?"
*** incomming hail from enemy frigate ***
Enemy Commander: "hey, eeeeeh... wanna call it a draw?"
Commander: "Let's call the planet purged and close the book on this particular fight."

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I once played an apocalypse game and for fun I made my warlord a word bearer so I could use the sons of the primarch rule which let me control an enwmy unit for a turn.
Turn one of the game a stompa and a gargantuan squiggoth march up the board and my warlord rides up to them defiantly. He locked gazes with the squiggoth and uttered one word: "kill".
Next thing my opponant knows his already wounded stompa (from chaos dakka) is being torn apart by a giant squig. What I didn't expect was for the squig to kill the stompa and then die from the explosion (along with all the units, including his warlord, they were carrying).
That was the first time I had faced an opponant who conceded first turn! We did however reset the units and start again, fir fun.

Apoc game. Opponents fired 5 vortex missiles at my big mek stompa, all 5 scattered far enough that none actually hit the stompa and took out one of their own nearby knights getting ready to charge the stompa.

Mork smiled upon my stompa that day.

I played a game with my Slannesh army against a Death Corps of Kreig army (1350 points) after I deepstriked most of my units next to the bulk of his troops, he proceeded to call artillary strikes down on my units each turn... and each turn they would scatter onto his own blobs of infantry. He arguably killed more of his soldiers each turn than I did! It was common to see whole units of 10 to be wiped from the board with these strikes.

The chaos gods can be fickle, especially when dealing with Slannesh.

The strangest thing I've ever seen was a single Plague Zombie champion killing both a Sorcerer and a Noise Marine champion in consecutive rounds of combat.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I almost persuaded an opponent into not charging a Riptide into 2 of my Russes, because of the threat of the Fire Barrels I'd taken for giggles (Riptide only had 2 wounds left). Then he wised up and realised I was threatening him with *Fire Barrels*... So he charged, and promptly died to them. Was the weirdest string of dice rolling I've ever seen lol.

Back when my friends and I were still figuring out the rules, we playe a 3 player FFA with Nids, Space Wolves and Tau (me). We thought that when a successful assault was made, the units involved remained locked in combat until one of them was completely destroyed. So we ended up with an XV8 Tau Commander in CC with what I think was the SW equivalent of a Tactical Squad. Shooting from the Tau commander had not inflicted a single wound on the squad and neither did overwatch. Then, while in CC, he killed four models over somewhere between 3 and 5 rounds of combat before dying. It was awesomely bad haha

Not sure if this is funny or just sad, but here goes:

At a recent 1k tournament, I had a full-strength 5-man Assault Marine squad out in the open. A Trukk full of Shoota Boyz drives within range to take potshots. The Boyz fire, and get 5 wounds through.

What do I roll? Three 1s and two 2s. This was with dice I had bought just the day before, too.

My Tau Fire Warriors beat some Sicarian Rustalkers in melee, it was amazing. They engaged me in melee on turn 3, but when we saw all but one of their attacks miss, then that failing to wound, we were flabberghasted! we carried on the game for two more turns, my opponent only managed to kill two fire warriors through the four assault phases while my most manly of fire warriors took out one, the game ended but with this raging combat ensuing we continued this little bit of comedy. After 5-7 turns (can't remember) my tau had punched and pistol-whipped their way to victory (albeit with three guys left). My friend now hates the ruststalkers xD

Well, had a khorne chaos Lord with an axe charge my crisis commander once. Not using any of the durability upgrades, or the CC relic. Just vanilla with guns.
The chaos Lord proceed to miss every single swing of the axe, and then get punched to death by the lone, unarmed commander.

Another day, my fire warriors got charged by a knight, and emped it to death.

Anyway, what are fire barrels?

Azrael and melee vets drop in next to my opponent's main tau gunline. The squad gets chewed apart, everyone except for Azzy and a power fist vet, and two base vets die first turn. In the following turns, they sweep a unit every turn, always on my opponent's turn so they can't get shot, including killing a riptide, and Azzy easily solos Farsight.

Now take note that early in the game a darktalon drops the D (killing a second riptide), halfway across the table from him. Next turn scatters 10 inches towards him. He's about 16 inches from the blast, so I figure it's safe to move him towards it 5" to assault another squad, what are the chances of an 11" scatter straight at him, right? My next turn comes up, blast scatter another 11" straight fething at him, rolls a 6, Azrael gets torn from reality.

A very similar situation, my opponent had a squad of drones charge a squad of terminators to hold the squad up, they actually managed to kill one of them (before meeting a horrible end of course).

In a 2v1 game where my teammate and i each had 1500 and our opponent had 3K, I had a chaos Lord on a juggernaut with a sigil of corruption riding with 3 spawn. Turn 1 shooting, opponent opens fire and takes out the spawn immediately with one squad if shooting (tacticals, i think) and then decides to take out the Lord. Fast forward to the end of the shooting ohase: a 3000 point army with all its dakka just barely managed to kill the Lord after making far too many 4++. My Lord withstood lascannons, grav spam, a couple melta shots, heaps of bolter fire, some plasma, and a demolisher cannon. The thing that did him in finally was a storm bolter on top of a rhino. Scoring 2 unsaved wounds.

Another time, i had a Nurgle bike Lord charge into a lonely crisis commander (drones were killed in shooting) and lose. Lord had full wounds, lightning claws and a powerfist. Charge in, completely wiff my attacks, commander strikes back and takes out 2 wounds. Next round, wiff again, commander kills me.

My dice are indescribably fickle and sometimes i think i can hear them laughing when bad things, horribly bad things, happen.

Testing out my new C'Tan Shard of the Nightbringer against my buddy's Riptide. I took a few pot-shots at the Riptide in the first couple turns, even managed to take off a couple wounds! Eventually, the Nightbringer got within charge range. The Riptide failed his fear test, then rolled a freaking 3 to run away! Next turn, I charged again. He fails fear test and rolls a 4! Next turn, I charge one last time, he fails fear yet again, this time he rolls a 10 and run off the table. The entire time, we were both humming the Benny Hill theme.
