I have yet to play against KDK. I am pretty sure thats what im facing in my supremacy league match tomorrow, although he has several armies, this has been his go to lately.

I am familiar with Chaos, and KDK, but once I start playing, things change, as I focus on my own tactics as Tau.

I am running dawnblade ret cad + drone net and farsight

What should I kill. I am running a bomb, and can kill atleast 2 things, or cripple them on turn 2, but escaping afterwards might be challenge. If I have to sacrifice my bomb, should I focus on warlord, soul grinder, flesh hounds? Im not sure of his list composition, but Im sure those will be the core. Any advice on good turn 2 beta strike options would be appreciated.

Your list is sound for anti-KhornKin, if you take enough CiBs and Missile Pods to drown them in saves. Being able to Hit and Run is helpful, too. You'll want to focus on shooting the units that want to get stuck in melee, whike reserving your Farsight Bomb for killing HQs and heavy units at close range.

Khornekin is pretty much the same as having a monoKhorne Daemon list with monoKhorne CSM (or vice-versa). For the most part you just play the same as you would for that opponent. Its pretty straight forward, just shoot them with your long range stuff, keep bunched up for your supporting fire to work best. Its a melee army (being Khorne), focus your AV weapons on vehicles, your pulse rifles on Daemons and your AP3 on Marines, your Str8+ on characters, etc

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Here is a tip. If he close to you by the end of turn two and you know he is going to charge you turn 3 then charge his cc units with one of your MC's (I can't remember their name). This will rob him of his +1Str and +1A (from FC and rage), but don't charge a weak/expendable unit in or he will just tear through them in the first round of combat and charge you next turn anyway. This tactic gives you 2+ turns to reposition your units to prevent him from charging you.

My list is locked because im defwnding the center spot in a league, but only thing starting on table are 2 missle suits and 12 marker drones. Unless he can table me turn 1 everything else comes in. I usually DS in close to make use of plasma rapid fire, but ill just keep back instead.

Daemons only have a 5++ right?

One minor thing to keep in mind is the Blood tide system. sometimes crippling units is better than killing them since he doesn't get a token if you leave one cultist alive.

The most important units to him will be his Flesh Hounds, Melta Bikers (his only viable anti-tank option), Soul Grinders, Str.D 'Thirster, Lord w/'turn into a Bloodthirster' axe.
Everything else is pretty much just there to generate Tithe pts by getting themselves killed.

Obviously he can make some insanely nasty combos by adding in allies (Be'lakor for guaranteeing Invis on the Str.D 'Thirster is ridiculous!), but from a strait-up Khornekin-only list, that's the scariest stuff he can field.

A really great point too about not always wiping out his squads right away! The most important part of the Tithe table is his ability to give his army FnP every turn. Without that, Khornekin has no more resiliency than a regular CSM army, since the Daemon components get none of the actual Codex: Daemons synergies that make them a lower top tier army. (ie: no Grimoire, psychic powers, etc...)
