So, as we now know, Realmgate Wars are getting a new book soon. This book centres around the Godbeasts, all powerful beings that Archaon wants under his control. The Godbeasts, Argentine, Ignax and Behemat all seem like new editions that just "happened". So I pose these questions. What do we already know about these creatures and what will happen to them? Will they fall under Chaos or lay neutral in the Realmgate Wars?

Also feel free to talk about the book in general, Battletomes etc.

Behemat sounds like a typically shameless amalgamation of tiamat and a behemoth, so I'd guess that might be the star drake, aka great big dragon.

Hmm, my first impression was that Bahemat was another take on Baphomet, the Icon of the devil. But I guess GW wants to keep things PC, so your probably closer to the mark.

I think they will stay Neutral, it's not like GW would just invent some myserious new power that is strong enough to destroy the world or change the power balance until it's unrecognisable. GW writers are smarter then that.

It would be a good plot if Archaon did manage to get a Godbeast or 2 on his side. A siege of Sigmaron would be amazing (the Siege of Terra was a great event in 40k history, so a similar event in AOS would be good).

To be fair, that already kinda happened!

Refuges? Not "refugees", GW? :-p

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Argentine turned to chaos previous to he story - its covered in the quest for Ghal Maraz novel, though that doesn't mean he is automatically on Archaeon's side.

I could actually see it being either.

The Three Brethren are the name of a set of three Realmgates that led directly to Azyrheim. The Nexus Wars were that whole thing about fighting in the conflux of the Realmgates--which could have had the areas surrounding them being used as refuges for those affected by the fighting.

Just my take on it.

My only answer other than it being an error is this would be extremely strange flowery language:

"Lightnings blazing in the God-King's eyes and he was terrible in his wrath."

I like the stories and ideas in the fluff, but I almost never like the actual writing. I also don't like how GW gave up on differentiating plural/singular pronouns.

Not to mention the weird tense change.

No you could be right with baphomet, the four chaos gods are were just distillations of traditional ideas of the devil, prince of lies, lord of flies, prince of darkness etc. Would be a fitting godbeast to join Archaon by that logic.

I think the most important thing to take away from that piece is that 'Order' are aligned more because of who they don't like, rather than who they do. Enemy of my enemy is my friend, and all that.

It also seems that Sigmar took the approach of vaporizing anyone who disagreed.

To quote a necromancer from a book (Hammers of sigmar I think) - "All will be well under his golden boot"

I think that quote just singlehandedly made me around 26% more interested in AoS than I already am.

Yeah, Saturday is the one. I wonder if Godbeasts is gonna be the last book in the Realmgate Wars series, since it seems like it's pretty definite in the story segment. Like, it's life or death for the people of Azyrheim whether these Godbeasts are tamed to Archaon's side.

Also it looks like Matt is going to beat me to a review. It's probably for the best to be honest! Be sure to post it once it's done.

Man you guys are lucky, I'm still waiting for my grand order book to arrive.

At least I can count on Matt's review!

So looking forward to seeing the Free Guild in action. (Not expecting anything major but a few mentions of what they do is always welcomed.)

May be a little while - there is a lot to digest in this book...
