Hoping this isn't an April fool's.
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/mar/31/nintendo-denies-alison-rapp-firing-is-linked-to-harassment-campaign
http://www.gamezone.com/originals/opinion-nintendo-got-it-right-on-alison-rapp-s-firing-jzmk
Alison Rapp, former Nintendo PR manager, was finally fired after being a company-wide disaster.
After having written an essay about the japanese "loli" culture (drawn porn including sex between ver under-aged kids and adults, often forced) and her apprecation of it, portraying it as a firm part of their culture and asking for more, especially Western, appreciation and asking for more lax / open law involving sex between adults and minors, Nintendo was less than pleased and soon after took her out of her PR job and put her in a non-public related job. /After/ repeatedly warning her...which she chose to ignore. Immediately playing the victim game and being a very outspoken feminist doesn't mix well with openly hating on 4chan - and playing with the fire, she got burnt and received an outlash / hate-campaign against her. Twittering about all this on your company account didn't do her well either. Strike 2.
Strike 3 finally hit when a 4chan user found out that she had another job, working under a false name with no personal info claiming to pay off student loans. Nintendo terminated her after getting to know said info. It's clear that NIntendo embraced this with open arms, given the distaster she chose to be for the company.
Her first response to her being fired? Complain about the industry, patriarchy, sexists etc. Usualy slacktivist bunch smelled blood in the water and already unsheathed their keyboards. Again - stupid. She is now openly regarded as a former employee who was not able to do her job properly, who has a very negative reputation, who cannot follow company guidelines and who has zero regret / reflection about making mistakes. Good luck finding a new job with such an attitude. Kotaku will certainly take her?
tl;dr: Don't be stupid and do / talk about stuff that obviously doesn't go along with the company you represent if you hold a public position.
That's the critical point. The smear campaign against her was as stupid as usual, what else can one expect from a bunch of neckbeards who cry over the loss of a "boob-slider" (not kidding!) in a video game? Usual bunch of idio....ms. It's terrible that anyone has to withstand such a thing and it's sad that Nintendo didn't stand up to her...yet she might have angered them with her Twitter posts. Some of them pre-date her hirement but are ridiculous. If I saw a Twitter post like this:
...I would immediately fire that person, right on the spot.

Having read the two articles, it seems to me that the waters are far too muddy for anyone ever to see clearly through them.

The problem is that either article is extremely biased to either side. On the one had, you got the extreme left that blames everything on the neckbeard social media campaign against her and on the other side, you have the usual neckbeard suspects praising her to be fired. Best one so far is a German article: http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=5&pk=3270225 The only actually objective thing is her lack of professionalism - given her reaction to Nintendo's prior warnings and the ultimate decision to fire her.

She posted pictures of her "modelling shoots" on her Twitter account, which is associated with Nintendo as a corporation, as well as the other tweets you linked, make for an altogether sound decision by Nintendo to fire her. Nintendo has much to gain from keeping up its "family friendly" reputation, and when you've got a PR-manager spewing things like these on her Twitter account, you are practically forced to fire this person.
Unfortunately a lot of people are somehow sticking up for her because she's a "victim" of the "evil 4chins and gamergators!11"

Kotaku's take on the issue:
http://kotaku.com/nintendo-employee-terminated-after-smear-campaign-over-1768100368
The timing is at least unfortunate, coming at the end of an apparently several months long Gamergate style harassment campaign.
The excuse that Rapp had a second job looks like a bit of a smokescreen. Nintendo could have reprimanded her, or just ignored it.
It would be easier to say the whole thing was fair and above board if there hadn't been a harassment campaign.

Ah, yes, kotaku, because kotaku is totally known for its objectivity regarding these events.
Russia Today reporting on fascist brigades in Ukraine has more journalistic integrity than Kotaku on anything that they can slap "feminism" on.

Kotaka is a trash site in all regards with a highly sexist staff, but nevertheless, they are partially correct on this one, there has been a huge smear campaign against her. What they, obviously, held back was that she kicked the bee hive and was then surprised that she was stung...and, of course, they try to put the blame on Nintendo and claim that Rapp has zero guilt on all of this. Sigh. /e: Heh, guess you can say Kotaku is promoting Rapp-culture

The "harassment" started after she publicly tweeted about how she would make little kids watch gore, when she started advocating child pornography, etc. Those tweets are why she was fired, to keep Nintendo's child-friendly reputation up, not because of "tuh evil harassers of gamergate11!" as kotaku would like it.

Seems the right choice by Nintendo, business wise. They have very particular brand, and losing or damaging it could cause them a lot of damge. And it's not like they're firing a really beloved person, like Reggie F. or something.

Kotaku and other left wing progressive blogs have made gamergate into the boogie man that is responsible for all the evil of the world. What happened with Rapp was another instance of public shaming. Basically Rapp talked about her views about child pornography that lets say are "controversial" in the west. The mob on twitter then descended and shammed her for it. The person that actually contacted Nintendo about it was Jamie Walton who works a group that tries to fight against sex trafficking. She thought that Rapps views where not appropriate for someone who worked for a company that markets to children.
Rapp wasn't fired for that though.

The ones in the spoiler block in the OP, that he speculates may have contributed to her firing. That's some grade A no-career, no social-life, eternal pariah level stuff she's posting. I mean if that kind of text made it back to her bosses from a public platform I have to imagine they'd be looking for any way to get her out there as fast as possible.
Heck, if I saw someone I knew posting stuff like that I'd cut all ties with them immediately simply out of fear of what damage it could to my personal, social and professional life for years to come by mere association. I mean regardless of any other facts or factors in this case if those screen shots aren't doctored that's her posting some industrial strength reputation poison.

The one in the OP about child pornography. Your profile says you are from Japan so you may not understand this but child porn is totally taboo in the west. Even possessing it is banned and producing it has minimum sentence of several years in prison. If you are company that is marketing products to children in the west, child pornography isn't something you want your employees talking about. Honestly Rapp should have known that.

It is an interesting topic, however. When is someone an "adult" ?Is it when they reach sexual maturity, physical, mental? And it changes greatly between cultures. Some places it's 15, 16, 17. Other places it is higher, 18, 19, 20. And it can be intersting to compre to other age-gates, driving, drinking, military, voting, ect.

A death sentence really, if you believe the stories. Though scepticism about them is probably healthy, given no facility would want to be on record about guards intentionally looking the other way when someone's skull literally gets caved in.
Yes. Like I said in my post fire able regardless of timing or context. She could have posted that as joke in middle school and I'd still expect her to be unable to have a career for the rest of her life because of it.

If by "random" you mean "former employee of the most famous video game company out there", then...that's a very flawed understanding of "random". What makes this especially nasty and despisable is her highly questionable attitude towards loli which is, effectively, drawn child pornography - questionable especially because she used to work at a videogame company that wants to put family-friendliness first. As a father and big videogame fan, that's why I wrote about it; the whole aftermath doesn't matter, it will be your usual SJW bunch of slacktivists with Quinn, Sarkeesian etc. vs. the usual bunch of neckbeards with 4chan, 8chan, etc. Same as usual and I couldn't care less. Firing her was the most perfect decision Nintendo could have made and with her highly immature attitude, she is, hopefully, likely to never get a foot in the PR business again.
