Gonna play it tomorrow in ITC scenarios 6,2 and 5 against some competitive lists. Rip it up, let me know where I did wrong and right. I have no access to the cheap stompa so that's out of the question, nor a big mek with KFF and bike.

I would put the meganobz in Trukks with reinforced ram. Means 70 Points for the Transport of the manz, not 245 Points.

Or dump some upgrades and at least kit out the wagons with a killkannon or something. A bare wagon is a total waste.

Are you running any HQs with the deffkoptas? If not maybe consider splitting them up. If 2 go down they will run so far. 5 singles might be useful for sucking overwatch or getting linebreaker or grabbing a lone objective.

Oh boy. It was a sounding failure.

Game 1, Crusade vs necron decurion - I drove forward and god zapped and killed by destroyers and wraiths. We made it to turn 3. Had we played 5-7 rounds I had been tabled. 1-11

Game 2, Relic vs plasmatoting ravenwing bikers and D-cannon longlegged knight. It was a shooting gallery in which my tankbustas and MANZ got slaughtered. Eventually my warbikes made it to the knight and barely destroyed it. I had grots and big mob left in the end where we fought over the relic and I took it. 4-5

Game 3, Big Guns Never Tire vs Ork Waaagh!-band. That went wild. We were in combat on turn 1 and threw everything into the meatgrinder. I made a smart move and tried to have my warboss take out a lot of the Council. But a failure to make even 1 Look Out roll messed up that plan. 1-11

Conclusion:
Orks are not quite strong enough (but I had that in mind at first). My footslogging mob was not really part of the game. 400 points out the window.

If I want to ITC I need a different army, either my marines or some heavy lifting of the orks.

Next time take the 400pt stompa instead of the 400p useless footslogging mob, maybe that will work better?

Also I don't think it went so bad for orks? You lost one match pretty badly (agains necrons) and you had a close match (4-5). The third one was against orks, so you can't use that to claim that orks are bad.
