Frontline Gaming had an interesting article breaking it down this morning which prompted my curiosity. http://www.frontlinegaming.org/2016/04/04/mathhammer-a-review-of-resilience
Neat! I wrote that article. I'm glad you liked it!

There are a lot of ideas you could use to build 'resilient' armies. One would be a paladin GK list. Another would be a ravenwing bike list rerolling jink saves. Those are both solid lists in durability.

However, I think the 'best' durability today is actually a Gladius Strike Force list using Iron Hands. It's not super durable on a per model basis, but with the extra transports you get the "Resilience per Point" shoots way up. It also has the advantage of having 12+ of objective secured units/vehicles.

Personally though, my next imperial list will be a GK with marine allies, as I've always been a fan of null deployment -- which the GK list allows me to do.

I'd imagine Imperial knights would be up there as they pretty much negate a plethora of weaponry failing that Iron hands or Red Scorpions (might be misremembering the name but all their sergeants are apothecaries )
Yes. This is extremely good. If you can take them, I would look seriously at these!

Purity Above All:
Any Tactical squad Sergeant or Veteran Sergeant with Chapter Tactics (Red Scorpions) may be made a member of the Chapter’s Apothecarion and upgraded to carry a Narthecium for no additional points cost (see page 125 of Codex: Space Marines). This does not otherwise alter their wargear, additional options or profile, and should always be appropriately represented on the model.

Feels like a White Scar BC would be more resilient in a Gladius settings.
-The ability to outflank most of your army if going second
-Reposition models post deployment
-Do more dmg when first (alpha), means less return dmg in following rounds.

It's technically not more resilient, but in relative terms it should have much more staying power.
Those are good points.

Just like in real life, the best defense is not to get hit!
