I do think they are unfair. They judge an army super broken with little to no testing, all their games they put up that very same army at full strength lost to marines/whoever else they played, then when their own tournament at vegas came around not a single tau player made the top 8. Meanwhile If you DID look at the top 8 you had to rub your eyes to make sure you were not actually looking at 2015's top 8 list as far as armies and builds were concerned.
Personally I think the swing the other way, trying to help orks, with a heavily discounted stompa is also too heavy handed of a change. People tell me its not. That its absolutley necessary for orks to even begin to compete. I have already tested the tau formations, and I find the hunter cadre far weaker than the flavor of the month 2 stormsurge+riptide wing, with markerdrones to taste. That is what needed real nerfing. So I feel that this at least warrents as much testing as I did for the tau. I feel that it has hard counters, such as eldar and knights, but still may be a bit too good for what you get.
And I was complaining because change doesn't come from inaction. Everywhere around here uses these rules, which was what I have always said. So I have two choices when it comes to tournaments. One, try and change public opinion with counterpoints in the hopes that popular opinion enacts change at the top level, or two, just not play any tournaments ever.
