Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

My hope is that GW does not endorse any comp, because I don't want to be forced to use a system that I don't like, and I don't like SCGT comp and would not want to be forced to use it by my community because its the "official comp".

I rather prefer the options that we have now instead of people trying to hem the community into one comp system to rule them all.

I think they will update it periodically. Russ on the last mini-episode of Facehammer was talking about how he still wants to see other comps come out and not have everyone go with SCGT, just for the sake of keeping things fresh. They talked a bit about a deck system for building your army and it sounded pretty cool, going to expand on the idea sometime in the future.

I'd think GW would just do like they did with Adepticon and tell people about the comp/event and say it's a good way to play the game. Can't see official adoption of any one comp.

Can't remember which of the podcasts it was now, maybe Lost Lighthouse, that was talking about the possibility to have "seasons" or changing of circumstances with SCGT. For example, you could have one event themed around monsters and all monsters are halved in pool choices for it, or whatever theme you wanted to come up with, to keep it fresh.

Oh yes, I agree, if SCGT was endorsed or given a semi-official stamp of approval I would like to see it being the first of a few. Kinda like how Infinity endorse a number of different terrain providers.

This all sounds great! Well hopefully we'll have an update once Grand Alliance Destruction is out and that will at least give all players a proper list to work from.

I don't think it will come to dominate the comp field, because like other comps that are doing well it has found a good niche. That in an of itself means it has strong appeal to a certain subset, but not the greatest overall appeal. Players that want to be ready to play in 2 minutes will still go with Azyr, while players that want more granularity and balance will still go with PPC. In regards to SCGT's future development, I expect they will be adjusting their errata and probably some of the points costs to reign in the more dramatic exploits (extra attack combos, units with size-scaling abilities, etc).

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.
