I've got a Grav Cannon (name?) from the new devastator box, and have accumulated a decent pile of grav guns from various space marine kits.

I'm gonna use the cannon as a graviton gun. Do you think it would be over the top to count grav guns as volkite weapons without modding them? (I would pick one or the other, or perhaps mod some to look different if I wanted access to chargers and calivers).

Grav-pistols counts as volkite pistols?

Anything else I can do with all this extra grav besides start a new army?

well, with some clever painting and consistancy, I doubt anyone would get pissy with the idea.

as for what else can you do: Make money Since they seem to be so loved, you can probably make a pretty penny off of them if you have enough.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

It's only like 10 or so. I'd give em to a friend before trying to sell them. I've been thinking about slicing off the tips and replacing them with something but I'm drawing a blank for ideas and part of me figures why not just use them as they are and not have the hassle of conversions.

It's weird, I read all the time how popular grav weapons are, but I've hardly ever played against them.

actully, 40k grav guns exist in 30k, they are called "Graviton Imploders". So their are Graviton Weapons (the FW 30k guns) and Graviton Imploder (the plastic 40k grav guns).

Currently the legion list dose not has access to Graviton imploders, they only appear in the Mechanicum army list(s). So you could sort of get away with it in a pure legion list ATM. The issue is if the legion list DOSE get access to Graviton Imploders later, or if you plan on taking Mechanicum allies. This could create confusion in regards to WYSIWYG.

In the end of the day the Graviton gun and the Graviton Imploder gun are two different weapons, that look very different, with two very different statlines. So if someone dose have a problem with it, you can't realy blame them.

If your just looking for a use for them, you could use them converting some of the 30k admec units. Myrmidon Destructors and their HQ's get to take them.

Just so i'm clear, this is the 30k names for these guns:
Graviton Gun
Spoiler:

Graviton Imploder

To be honest I'm not too familiar with the rules for HH grav weapons and don't have the material at the moment. When I say Graviton Gun I'm referring to the Heavy weapon that Breacher and Vet squads have access too.

I play Word Bearers so I wouldn't think we are going to get access to further grav weapons, but who knows.

In 30k the bit you have is called a graviton implodier cannon, not a graviton gun.

Dose that make more sense?

Also the Graviton gun vets and breachers get is not realy a "heavy weapon". it's more like a specail weapon like a flamer or such.
Spoiler:

you get a graviton gun and lascutter every time you buy the set of 5 breacher.

edit: I realy just suggest keeping the bits for now and useing them to maby convert some Dark Mechanicum allies later for your word bearers TBH. That or try to trade them for more usefull bits for yourself other on the dakka swap shop or a local warhammer tradeing page on facebook. This is what I've done with alot of mine TBH. I live in a larger citiy so plenty of 40k SM players willing to swap them for plasma or melta guns. Especially plasma guns since they are alot more usefull in 30k then in 40k.

With using the 40k "Grav guns" they dont fit the aesthetic of a volkite weapon at all. It's nothing to not play you over, but it is an eyebrow raiser.

Using the 30k Graviton Guns for Volkite I like even less as they are a specific weapon that has a place and really isn't an adequate visual stand in.

The use of the 40k Grav Canon as a graviton gun is "whatever" as its not really something you can Fit on a Breacher Marine. But would I guess work on a vet.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Maybe if I do uise them, I will cut off the tips and replace them with something to make them look more like Volkite, if I can find any such bit that will fit.

In any case, I was wrong about Vets having access to the Graviton Gun. They don't have access, so scratch that 'counts as' idea as well, since I don't use Breachers.

Regarding using them in Mechanicum, that's an army that doesn't really appeal to me personally. So maybe I'll just hold on to them or give them to a friend or someone starting out with Space Marines.

If you're an Iron Hands player, you can take a Tactical Support Squad all armed with Graviton Guns - for when you absolutely have to kill that vehicle
