Hello, i have a space marine from the 3 pack snap tight but don't have a bolter, is it unholy of me to use a tyranid bolter i sanded down to look like he is holding it? i don't know if any of you consider that to be sacrilege, let me know what you think,
Thanks

Unholy?

It is a savage crime against the Emperor!

That said if you know anything about deathwatch fluff and the fact they use Xenos weaponry at times it fits. :p

Other than the fact Tyranid weapons are grown into their bodies like a symbiote and are only alive with the organism attached. Remove the gun from the bug, the gun dies. But just because it doesn't match established fluff doesn't mean you can't do it. The gun looks good on that model. It doesn't have to actually be a Fleshborer. It can be whatever you name it to make sense of the concept.

It actually looks pretty good on a Marine. Worst comes to worst you can always count it as a plasma gun or something.

Two things. I will say first that I'd be totally fine with it, and might not even notice if you don't bring it up.

On the other hand, if you have a FLGS it shouldn't be that hard to get spare bolters, I personally have at least 5 or 10 spares from adding special weapons or different poses with bolt pistols, grenades, etc.

on the forum. Obviously

You know, if you're playing Chaos, that could be a pretty neat CSM with a demonic bolter.

This is absolutely Heresy, but lets me imagine this: just think about another (more optimistic) universe in which the Imperium is stronger and less fanatic, or at least, in which the Mechanicus is way more into bio-stuff. In addition to Necron or Eldar goodies, they can "repurpose" tyranid weapons...

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?
