Assuming my Tetrad is 1275-1300 pts and I have 6 units of min Nurglings for the rest of the Tally Band, what's a good loadout for the Herald + 10 PBs?

I was thinking ML2, Doomsday Bell, FNP locus at least, probably a Lesser reward for both the Herald and PB champion for AP2 etherblades. Is there anything else that is worth it?

Can you swap for a plague flail and an etherblade to get 2 specialist weapons?

I wouldn't really put anything on the herald. I find PB units don't ever make it to combat. They are too slow and ignore cover males it pretty easy to kill.

Unfortunately not. Each level of reward can only be swapped once. Since both EtherBlade and Plagueflail are Lesser gifts, I could only swap for 1 of them even if I bought 2 lesser rewards.

Now if I was willing to purchange a Greater and Lesser rewards on him, I could swap each for a specialist weapon. But that's a bit of a points investment for a unit that is unlikely to see combat in every game. I am only thinking of the Lesser reward "just in case".
So would it be best to spend the points on a Lesser reward for both characters, or for 1 Greater reward on the Herald?

I kind of agree, but unfortunately I play in an area that accepts that IC's cannot join Infiltrators during deployment, meaning if I only have Nurglings, the Herald will be by himself unit my first turn. I have to buy the Herald for the Core Formation, so I was thinking the Bell & ML2 would support the rest of the army while he sits in cover. PBs are just spare wounds for him.

tallyband have no punch, it is just needed to keep obj, so useless overcharge the herald maybe just the bell (for psychic screams) or locus.

no, they have to infiltrate. their just allowed to do it in your own deployment zone

Like Swampmist says, Infiltrators must always Infiltrate, so at best I deploy the Herald, then infiltrtate a unit of nurglings near him. But if my opponent goes first, they can snipe the Herald since he hasn't technically joined them yet.

Thanks guys, this was what I was thinking. Bell for Shrieks, ML2 for extra warpcharge, FNP Locus just cuz.

Overall I want the Tallyband for objectives as you mentioned, but also to provide the Incursion bonuses for the Princes. Fury auxiliary of course.

I don't bother with the FNP locus. Your opponent has more pressing units to take out, including the Tetrad and the numerous Nurglings dropping on objectives. The Bell is standard and if I have the points, I may go with Lvl 1 or Lvl 2 Psyker on the Herald. Any extra points, I'd spend on buffing up the Tetrad, including throwing in more gifts and/or more Artefacts. Only when I can't think of anything else to get will I consider the FNP locus on the Herald.

If your bringing nurglings I agree. Scat bikes will double them out and you won't be getting your FNP rolls anyway -- and will be IDs to boot.

That's actually why I don't like nurglings as the main body of the tallyband. I understand that it's the only real option with a 1300 point tetrad leading them, but if your bringing something like a rotswarm or murderhorde with them, I would go with 50 plague bearers and 6 nurgling stands.

In that case the FNP loci is worth it because it's so damn cheap for what it provides IMHO.

The rotswarm is pretty expensive, but I think it's going to be awesome in practice. I'm building up mine right now.

Im going to try out a Flayertroupe + Rotswarm at some point. Hoping to get the Rage+Furious Charge+Zealot power on the slaanesh herald.

at 1750/1850 you can easily use both rotswarm+murderhorde, i tried a list at 1650 and still interesting, just at low points you mustb play more beasts than drones, but you have a very fast list which hits pretty hard.
