Pretty chuffed with how this is turning out. The blade looks pretty good imo at arms length which is what I'm aiming for. I'm under no illusions that I'll never be a golden daemon winner. The sword will get a gloss cost after final varnishing to make it really pop.

C+c welcome!

Not sure how this plays in game, but the sword effect looks absolutely ace! Nice work!

Cheers, just a close combat dread. It's more rule of cool than wysiwyg. A conversion I've wanted to do for a while

Oooh, that's awesome!
Can I ask how you went about doing it? ^^
I've been wanting to try something similar on the wing membranes on one of my dragons, but I'm too worried I'll mess it up and have to strip the whole thing again Oo

It was actually quite easy and only took an hour or so. I painted the sword a dark blue/turquoise all over then took a sponge. The inside of a gw carry case sponge is good, but any fine sponge. Start off with dark purple and sponge a few areas, using lighter purple mix with the darker sponge inside the original colour but a smaller area, keep repeating making colour lighter each time. Repeat with blue then also purple/red-yellow/red-red/White. Then paint on stars in pure white
