I was browsing through the GW catalogues when I wondered why Trazyn the infinite and Anrakyr the traveler have a blue glow, as opposed to the traditional neon green? One hypothesis I had was that they were more conscious than other Necron characters, which kind of makes sense if compared to a regular warrior but I'm not really sure compared to all other independent characters, who seem like they are capable of independent thought. I'm guessing there is some fluff or canon stuff that can explain this but nothing that I could find on wikis or surfing the web. What do you guys think?

The color is just the type of energy done with their particular dynasty. There are dynasties with blue, orange, green, yellow, any color you want.

The Maynarkh have mostly orange energy. It just varies from Dynasty to Dynasty. Doesn't have anything to do with their level of cognition.

If you want sources, just look in the newest Necron codex. You can see all the different color schemes for different dynasties:
Sautekh: silver, green, and black
Charnovokh: dark blue and teal
Novokh: red and silver
Mephrit: Orange and dark green
Thokt: blue
Nihilakh: turquoise and gold
Maynarkh (not in the codex): are orange as well iirc
