Apparently, there might be some sort of critter swimming around in the Thames River:
http://www.businessinsider.com/video-of-mysterious-creature-swimming-in-the-thames-2016-4
Personally, I thinks it's either a small whale, shark, or (as one young lady on Twitter seems to think) David Cameron trying to sneak out of Britain by sub.
What does Dakka tthink?

Possibly the lost animal is high on the pollution.
Actually the Thames is a lot cleaner than it used to be, and fish have returned but its still a river through a major city and there is a limit to how clean it can get.

Probably a famous London rat. Looks about the right size for an adolescent one.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

That too. Space lizards that caught lycanthropy.

I was on Loch Ness last week (Look up George Edwards, he does great tours out from Drumnadrochit and sounds like Sean Connery). Didn't see the beastie on this occasion, now we know where it's gone.

Nessie has been found, so I think we can now safely assume that this was indeed Nessie on a city break:

It can apparently stay perfectly still for long periods of time in order to fool people into thinking it is a movie prop. Clever beastie...
