So I'm borrowing a buddy's PS2 and gonna be replaying Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (the 2nd one is a little harder to find, but I fething loved these games) as well as the Onimusha series. Anyone else doing anything to relive your favorite video game memories?

A bit ago, I hooked my Atarti 2600 up to the TV. There was a bit of a glitch as the old analog didn’t want to sync nice, but besides a little V-sync tracking error, it played fine.
Also hooked up my Dreamcast. Less nostalgia there, but still some fun to be had.

Got a NES, SNES and Genesis (though I knew it as the Mega Drive) amongst the massive altar of consoles in our bedroom so I can relive my childhood whenever I like! Also got the Genesis Collection on Xbox 360, lots of good stuff there.
Been contemplating playing Mario World, Shining Force and Wonderboy in Monster World lately, but Dark Souls keeps calling...

Oh god, Shining Force. Never beat it, but that game rocked. Same with Shining Force 2, so badass

Already did that a while back. Pokemon Sapphire was one of my first video games. After Alpha Sapphire came out, well, loved every minute of it.
Now, I'm biding my time to get Civ 4, and as soon as I figure out what is wrong with Assassin's Creed 2 on Steam, I'm going to give that a shot too. I also remember a friend of mine got Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon when we were younger, so I'm going to give that a shot too.

My younger brother built me a computer to act for the express purpose of playing SNES, N64, and Sega Genesis gams as a Christmas gift.
I still have my SNES and N64 (and probably my Genesis) somewhere in my crawl space. My mom still has our NES as well and she used to play it until my dad bought her the Wii when it came out.

I still play WC3 every now and then to remember the good times. For older games like SNES, I use an emulator online whenever my friend comes over so we can play Double Dragon, TMNT and Contra together. The SEGA smash pack was also a blast from the past, playing games I used to find intimidating like Comix Zone, Vector Man and more fun ones like Sonic.

I would love to play Heroquest again on an Amstrad like I did when I was wee. It was my very first RPG and it was the first game that I could play for literally hours at a time.
I'm not going to though as I know that the game will be gak and I don't want to spoil it.

You asked for it.
(OK, not quite that bad, but close)
There was a time before hard drives. Before floppy disks. We used cassette tapes. Rewind and reset the counter, fast forward to the spot you wanted, type load and hit play. We had a commodore vic 20. And a book with lines of code for some games. Had to type it in if we wanted to play. Hope there wen’t errors. Once we got the tape deck hooked up we could use that. Graphics were ascii art.
First on-line game I played was a sequential turn based game (Space trader 2000 or something like that). Persistent world, you got a set number of moves a day, people would dial up to the BBS and take theirs. I dialed up with a 300 baud acoustic modem. Literally dialed the phone, waited for the tell-tale connection screech, then put it in a cradle so my computer could talk. So slow you could see the pause between letters.
And because I like pictures:
Xenos fleet detected! Man the orbital defenses.

Sure, no problem. This is the one I usually use, since it has both SNES and NES. http://www.nintendoemulator.com/nes-search/double%20dragon/1

My dad worked with a punch card computer while I was still a kid. My drawing paper growing up was the blank side of the old fashioned "green bar" printer paper.
Yep, I remember my Atari 2600 and Commodore 64. But, truth be told, my real nostalgia is for the great PC games of the 80 s and 90s, and GOG.com scratches that itch for me.
Also, the BBS game you might be thinking of is Trade Wars. Still playable through online BBSs. Once a year or so I get the itch to play it again.

ya where shredder was a tool and 1 shotted your ass. And slash was in it who if you didnt jump kick would pin you down for a wipping. 5 lives later Back to the start ass hole lol. Good times
I see so many rage videos on games but my god, try playing for 2 hours then dropped at the first with a screen saying dead. Soooo annoying lol.
But nes and snes will always have a special place in my heart. My brother who is 8 years older got them when I was young think 5 for snes. He would let me play super mario world...... Dream come true big brothers room and he is playing games with me lofe is perfect. Then megaman 2 another amazing memory. I find the reason people say things where better in the old day is because when you got it there was no internet few poeple had them and it was special. You wanted to find out what games where out you went to the store no cheats no help just you and the game. Also same room multiplayer kills new games for me. I have real life skin friends who I like to play games with. Nowit is sweet I got this game go home and we will play together.
I miss the human interaction with games and not the curse swear death threats of modren genre and people.
Also anyone remember donkey kong or pacman on the little home arcade machines? Loved them

I've emulated SNES and Megadrive games a few times.
Great fun to be had, and some classics I never got to play as a kid but really wanted to, like Chronotrigger.
Golden Axe and Zelda though, good times.
I actually started on the C64, loading the games on cassettes, but it's not an experience I'm all that nostalgic for!
I'd love a stable PS1 emulator or PS2 emulator. Would really enjoy playing through FF9 again.

FF9 is hands down my favorite FF game EVER. I feel it is highly underrated. Everyone always goes on about 6 and 7, but 9 blows them out of the water imho.

No, not Black Mesa, I am referring to the official remake of Half-Life using the Source Engine. Half-Life Source I think it's called, which is nothing more than Half-Life running under the Source engine instead of the GoldSrc engine.
But no, I played the original version released back in 1998.

Same here, it's what really got me into the FPS genre as a whole. I still think fondly of the many hours I've spent playing the game or one of the many, many mods.
Revisiting it though.. Grandfather of telling a good story in a good way or not, it hasn't aged super-well in my opinion.
