I was thinking about an Anti-Astra Militarum list at low points, and trying to work out what would be best against my opponents vehicle spam, and then it hit me: Endless glancing hits. So I submit for your consideration the following:

Retribution Phalanx:
Necron Overlord w/ Tachyon Arrow, Phylactery, Resurrection Orb, Phase Shifter and Solar Staff (Attached to Warrior unit at the back)
20 Necron Warriors
9 Canoptek Scarabs
1 Triarch Stalker w/ Heat Ray (Staying behind Warrior unit)

That's it. That's the list. Normally I'd be puzzling over how to cram in a Doomsday Ark and Doom Scythe in a CAD, and that might still be the best option, but how do you guys think this would do against an AM list at these low points?

If he has a Leman Russ a 20 man warrior blob is going to be a liability. Isn't this the SC:Necrons box?

A unit of Wraiths would destroy anything AM has at this point level.

At this point level you could take 2 Canoptek Harvests of 6 Wraiths each and still have 50 points for upgrades.

If you want to stick with Retribution Phalanx then I suggest removing all those upgrades on the Overlord except Phase Shifter and take a second Retribution Phalanx, splitting the Warriors and Scarabs between them. More units is always better than big units.

I should clarify: The reason I went with a Retribution Phalanx is because I bought a SC:N box, I don't own more than one Triarch Stalker, or any Canoptek Spiders. A 20 man warrior blob would normally be a liability, but with a RP if the warrior or scarab units are wiped then they respawn within 3" of the Overlord. My full list of owned models is in the spoiler if you're interested.

Speaking as a mech guard player thats looks like quite a tough list, it would definitely be an interesting battle! I don't know a lot amount about necrons but i will give a brief description about what I would do if i were to use my list against yours

So the wyvern, LRBT and plasma vet squad (in their chimera) would try to wipe out the warriors and scarabs asap (making sure to keep out of range), meanwhile the melta vet squad and the exterminator would try to kill the stalker and then help deal with whatevers left, sorry for my lack of necron knowledge but thats what i would do

That seems about right... I think this might be a nice fluffy list but not one for a game I want to actually win... Back to the drawing board, then!

Well not necessarily, if you can get into range with the gauss blasters they could dismantle the tanks pretty quick and the AV14 of the leman Russ would mean nothing, and if the guardsmen are forced to leave the transports they would fold quite qucikly. It's by no means a bad list but I think you could benefit from having a few more units, so splitting up the warrior squad and scarabs etc...

Crypteks go each in a Warrior squad, giving them +1 RP. The warlord also gives 5++ against shooting. Wraiths will be your power house unit, they'll either absorb fire for the Warriors to get in range or they'll slaughter whatever they touch. Doom Scythe will be your mid-game ace in the hole to kill his vehicles hiding in the back.

Never mind you dont have any ghost arks
