If you were to read the old Freebooterz ork background book you will find details about Khorne Stormboyz and Chaos Renegade Orks; they are generally considered with suspicion and ridicule by most orks for being un-orky.

This. There might be a few Orkish Chaos warbands and some Stormboyz worship Khorne as an expression of rebellion, but in general the Chaos gods are seen as useless gits. An ork already has everything he needs, and if not he can always pick up something choppy or shooty and go get it. If he can take it (and keep it) he deserves to have it, all according to his personal power instead of the decree of some un-orky warp critter.

I had an army that essentially were khornate by accident. They didn't know they were worshiping khorne but had drawn the attention of the gods nonetheless and were therefore "gifted"

I don't think it would be safe for them to show up at the nearest waaaaagh! Part migration part holy jihad those events and their energies is what feeds Gork and Mork. Pretty sure the nearest orks will turn on the heretics out of instinct for being un orky.

Also, it isn't like Khorne even is personally more powerful, iirc Gork and Mork are stronger than the big 4, but are generally concerned with fighting each other, so they don't ever try it.

Apparently they are able to shrug off the hits from the other 4 with a simple laugh and continue going on about their business slaughtering daemons. My guess is they neither care nor notice the other 4 enough to stop having fun.

Hello all. I know that somewhere in the fluff there is a statement where Khorne loves the orks as fodder for his daemonic minions, but shouldn't there also be orks who worship Khorne rather than Gork and Mork?

From that piece of fluff where Orks invade a Khorne Daemon world for a good fight, and Khorne thought it was just so great he continually revives the Orks every day to battle endless Khorne Daemons again and again. The Orks have yet to complain.

I've read somewhere about Khornate Orks, but they weren't in it for the God, they were in it for the slaughter. They didn't worship Khorne, They didn't even revere him, he was just a simple of fighting to them. They weren't true believers, just along for the ride.

Chaos boyz? Dats eresy! *dakka* *dakka* *dakka*.

I always considered that Orks are too hard coded in their ways and intune with the mob mentality to really venture off into chaos worship. Also the Chaos gods don't really have much to offer an Ork when following Gork and Mork leads to a fun filled orky life.

Yes, I think they may unintentionally be one of Khorne's favourites because of all the slaughtering they do, but they wouldn't actively worship him.

to the OP ... why would the orks worship lesser gods? Gork and Mork thanks t the psychic power of the orks plus sheer numbers are the most powerful warp entities.

In the Daemonhunter's codex there was a blurp about Orks possibly worshipping Khorne due to their mutually bloodthirsty nature. Surprisingly though, the accompanying picture were of NURGLE orks.

Seen here:

Granted, the rules were made so you could ally any daemons with Orks (back then you didn't have allies outside of the two Hunter codexes period).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

It's from GW's Freebooterz book from 1991.
It's a great book with loads of nice old source material in it. Freebooterz, Human Mercs, Oddboyz, Genestealer Ork Hybrids to name a few.
Here's the Khorne Stormboyz.
