So I have been looking to start a 30k legion but was hoping to get some advice from people who have played 30k. I am currently looking at raven guard, the dark fury assault squad and the mor deythan looked pretty awesome. I am a bit worried about the dark furry assault squad because of the wings and the very small contact area with the base, are they difficult to transport or get to stay up?
I was also wondering what people typically run with raven guard, I prefer an infantry focused army with good shooting and some decent melee options, so wanted to make sure that is how they normally play.
I personally run 2 15 man squads with extra ccw a sgt with ravens talons arty armor melta bombs and an apothecary with arty armor. Plus a 10 man mor deythan squad with combi flamers in a rhino and a 10 man dark fury squad. Then I usually fill in with contemptor rapier and a fire raptor.
As for the transport of dark furies, the wings aren't super fragile, and as long as you pin them to the base they are usually sturdy enough. I personally use a KR case and put them in slots meant for terminators
well, all of their power armor infantry can infiltrate, so if you wanna be funny, take a few 15-20 man tactical squads, and have some glorious turn one fury of the legion
as for moving the furies, Ustrello is basically on the ball.
I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

as with all primarchs: Really well given proper support (though to be fair, some primarchs (i.e. Mortarion, Perty, and a few others) do just fine without buddies)
