So, me and some friends are talking about whether bikes can fit into an iron warriors army thematically. My logic that is a seige army like DKOK has calvary, then Iron warriors would have the same.
Stuff like Outriders spotting for artillery. But also stuff like they can close No mans land fast, get to the trench or the wall the city walls and throw melta bombs or melta blasts at them or chuck a grenade up on the battlements, stuff to harass the enemy while shells bombard them.

can outriders have nuncio voxes? As for the DKoK comparison, I think they are the exception, rather then the rule


as for fluffing up some bikes in a seige list, it's easy: you need SOMEONE to rush into the breach untill the infantry can further close the gap

Well their new RoW allows some form of spotting from units without a Vox. im just wondering if there is a way to make it work fluff wise

Of course they can ride bikes, they have to actually get to the walls they have been bombarding to rubble. It makes more sense for them to use machines of metal to get there than to hoof it in my mind.

The Iron Warriors had one of the largest recorded tank battles in the history of 40k on tallarn. In the context of a Iron Warrior Armour company, Bikes make perfect sense. They are scouts that can move quickly in front of the tank formations like how they were used in WWII.

I'm planing on running my warsmith on a bike with command squad when I do my Iron Warrior Armoured Breakthrough army. It lets him follow behind the tanks able to repair them, and act as a counter charge unit from assault troops threatening my tanks.


I also think bikes would make sence in a Iron Warrior Assault Company, since they are the Iron Warriors who turn into Khorn Berserkers post heresy.
