For a start: I'm not trying to troll here and I have no problem whatsoever with people using whatever ruleset they find enjoyable. That said ...
I've spent the last year playing Warmachine and I really like the clean rules of that game. Easy to get into, an internal 'logic', reasonably well balanced and largely unambiguous. (They also have a tactical depth that goes well beyond accumulating massive amounts of dice and fielding gun lines ...). Are there any alternative 40k rule sets that are written in a similar manner? I find the current 40k rules difficult to overview and too often they lead to dice roll offs to decide on rulings.
Any ideas? I'm sort of stuck between a rock (great fluff + models but messy rules) and a hard place (great rules, a fluff I don't care about + partly horrible models).
(Edited for clarifications.)
