Are the Ardboyz Models for the Ironjawz actually new casts or have I been under a rock for a while?

They are the artists formally known as Black Orcs.

Is that the megaboss next to a brute and black orc? Wow, didn't realize he was double the size of a brute!

Love this size, they should be big seeing how they are allied with Ogres!

Black Orc warscrolls are fairly different from those for the Ardboyz, by the by. When given the choice (and the recent FAQ supports this position IIRC), I'll be using the old BO ones

Or I might try to sell the Blorcs I've stockpiled and get Brutes instead. Because knees and brutality

Here are the scrolls in question:

Reasons I prefer the OG BO scroll:
+ Min size 5 (not 10)
+ Move 5" (not 4")
+ Simpler loadout (prefer to not deal with model-by-model armaments which the AB scroll requires, due to variance in the kit)
+ More flavorful loadout in regards to WHFB legacy (BO were 'Armed to Da Teef' meaning they had access to a variety of weapons, not literally this or that weapon)
+ Generally better Boss boost (+1A vs +1 to hit, which is only worse if the AB Boss is rocking double choppas ... but then without any rend they're even probability against 4+ armor and the AB is worse vs 3+ armor)
+ Synergy with Black Orc Big Boss

My BO don't have shields - IMO the only upside of the AB scroll - and are armed with an array of weapons, which I would prefer to not have to micromanage. AND my interest in the old Ironjaws keyword is partially the synergy involved, which doesn't seem as intertwined in the new Ironjawz scrolls - big dudes do stuff, but smaller dudes don't appear to have synergistic effects on their scrolls. Should I be forced to use the AB scroll, I suppose I'd just give everybody Big Choppas (even though 1/2-2/3 of them won't have that modeled) and shed a tear at how slow they are and unconcerned with the presence of their betters

But anyway, OG BO FTW

Worth noting the Black Orc warscroll does receive the benefits of a megaboss' command ability, air-traffic drummer, etc. Because they have the Ironjawz keyword. They can receive these alongside the benefits of having a BO Big Boss in range, alltogether meaning the BO warscroll is more or less better.

Agreed, I much prefer both the style and rules of the Black Orcs.

Keep in mind that the Ardboyz are the only ones that can be used in the Ironjawz Tome..one of which has a unit of 3-5 Ardboyz and a Warchanter with the special being whenever a unit of Ardboyz is wiped out completely,it returns during the next player turn within 6" of the board edge and as close as possible to the Warchanter,,more than 6" from enemy units.

Btw can any one post a comparison link to a 40 k ork nob or meganob with Brutes ? Models just look so good i was thinking of converting some maby in meganobs

A bit OT, but I'm waiting for the inevitable conversions of Gore-Gruntas into Cyboars. They're perfect for it!
