Hi everyone,

I've done up this marine from the B@C set as Emperor's Children, and I need some help with it:

Firstly, how can I make it look more interesting that just a purple and gold marine?
I'm thinking about adding some white onto the scheme. But I'm worried the white will detract from the dark purple. How are the eyes? Too green? What about the bolter case?

Also, how can I do chipping on the armour? It's currently painted with silver, and layers of Druchi Violet on top. I'm really not sure how to give it a 'chipped' look beyond just sponging silver onto it.

Would appreciate any and all advice

And how do I photograph predominantly metallic minis? (not happy with how it's photographing)

Thanks Z

I like the eyes
maybe take a dark wash (black or darker purple) to the crevasses and then a neon or lighter purple paint and go over visible purple edges for a highlighted look
and/or
take silver and go over some of the edges to give it a worn look then use a black wash.
im not a good photographer but I hear incandescents are the way to go

Not too sure how vibrant you want the metallic look, but my daemons were quite metallic looking that I did a while back.

Spoiler:

Those are basic daemons.

Painted them runefang steel first.
Washed with badab black / nuln oil.
Dry brush heavily with necron compound.
Then 2-3 layers of drunchii violet.

Makes them a pain in the arse to get a pic of, but makes them look like they are metallic purple quite well.

Other than that, eyes and bolter both look solid to me.
I'm always a fan of bright marine eyes that stand out.
