Hey dakka. So ive been working on my 30k sallies but struggling to find the kind of paint scheme/look I want. I recently watched MWG's painting tutorial on the boys in green and was amazed, its exactly what im looking for. However, its created using an airbrush which I do not posses. Unfortunately I will be moving away to college in the fall so buying one is out of the question. My question is, can I achieve a decent effect by using store bought spray paint....I would prime in black, spray silver from the top down and follow with an emerald type green over top. hopefully the silver will shine through the green to create the desired effect.

Still relatively new to the hobby so please spare me if this is a stupid idea, here is a like to the video in question https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9rK3t9XXfs

Any feedback greatly appreciated

Yes, you can zenithal highlight from a can. Januine from the forums does that and is one of my favourite painters.

For the green, water it right down and plan on 4+ coats, or use an airbrush paint (from a brush). You still need the green translucent.

You can get green spray paints that might do a lot of the work for you. Look in your local automotive centre. Just make sure the paint is not expanding or you wil lose details.

Alternatively I would go with kb_lock.
