I'm working on an Alpha Legion Helbrute and when it comes to the flesh, I'm a little torn. I did a base coat of Bugman's Glow, washed with Reikland Fleshshade, went back with another layer of Bugman's Glow, and a layer of Tallarn Flesh. I wonder if it's ok as is, or if it needs another highlight. What do you guys think? If it needs more what color would you suggest? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think the skin is very good, but the face could use another highlight - might just be your lighting.

His left foot looks perfect

For some reason painting helbrutes in flesh tone colors makes them look even more disgusting. Good work! I second the suggestion of another highlight on the face. That face is tough to do anyways because the detail, while good on the model, is pretty shallow and can easily get obscured if the paint is even a little to thick.

I feel its too....human..?

Maybe some different tones would maybe make it look more daemonic.

especially since the skin would be all stretched out and stuff making it more purple or bruised looking in the more stretched out areas or places with things attached to it. not full on nurgle everything is rotten look but enough to show that the body has gone through a hella transformation.
imho

it looks good though.

edit: also more toe jam

Perfect amount! I would hit the nose and eyebrows with another level to draw attention, just me. Very good job!

I wanted to do a more humanish flesh tone since Alpha Legion aren't affiliated with a specific god, and I liked the faint idea that they 'might still be loyal'. Keeping the flesh tone instead of using reds, blues or greens, to me keeps this idea. Though I do see your point about the bruising. Would you recommend a light purple glaze around joints or folds in the muscles?

I think some purples around areas that would have a lot of veins and weird hose areas could help it without it looking all chaosy as much as it already is.

just dont go ham fisted on it as it would then end up looking a bit slanneshy maybe.

id test it on an spot that would be easily fixable first and maybe some where not really too visible like the backside somewhere to see if you like it.

I mixed some lahmien medium with some purple wash and used it in those nooks and crannies. It came out pretty nice. Don't know if I should go over it again. Thoughts?
