I need 3 Librarians on bikes, but I don't want to shell out all my life savings on unique librarians and I suck at green stuff. What are some other things that will make people understand that they are Librarians?

What I did:
GK strike box for psychic hood torsos. Also book/sword shoulderpad
Ravenwing accessory sprue has robed legs. I had them sitting around from the old DA battleforce. Might be other options out there now. Bike front is also from there.
(UM upgrade sprue for chapter specific stuff)

outstretched arm with open palm out hand (talk to the hand)
wires into the head
Agenis <sp> hood
a staff or book in one hand
the horned skull and book motif on the shoulder pad
blue armor
keys
glowing eye on a naked head

depending on your army:

Paint them blue. if you're army isn't a blue one, that should set them out plenty, AND it's fluffy
Skull + book, lots of books on the model.
staff or fancy power sword for force weaponry.
etc. etc.

Cut down a spare shoulder pad for each of them as psychic hoods. There should be plenty of inspiration pics out there as i think its quite a common mod.

Grey knight kit would supply a metric ton of potential parts.

Swords. Pads, hoods and lots of just stuff.

Robed legs optional potentially. With hood, force and colour its obvious

The main features of a Librarian that set him out visually from his Battle Brothers are;
- blue armour (if a Codex Chapter)
- Psychic Hood
- Force Weapon
- Insignia (book or horned skull)
- yellow tabbard denoting their mastery level

Dark Angels and Grey Knights offer lots of options for kit bashing.

If you need three Librarians on bikes then the Ravenwing Sergeant from DV should be cheap - he just needs a force weapon. Also a second but replace everything above the waist with the DV Librarian. And then kit bash a 3rd.

If you need a psychic hood but don't wanna shell out the money for GK torsos, just take a spare shoulderpad and trim away the upper sides until you get something that looks like the psychic hood.

Indeed, the shoulder pad psychic hood has been a stable of Librarian converters for some time now...



Although they're not hard to mock up with a little putty or plasticard either...

You can accomplish a lot with posing, bits, weapon options, and some proper application of paint.

No robe or cloak, as having one could be detrimental when airborne.
