what a dirty and mean organisation you are devising
and yeah ...that way it makes way more sense... tho i still like to see a teched up ogryn

Ok I have to say I am a little lost ? Do you mean your Grots took over there clan by using mind control collars ?
Still think irks as Merck would be so cool, he'll I might have ago at that myself

@ LDD
Mate I have a gang of orks that are willing mercs by trade why to mind control them if they are cheaper to buy? The grots however come from the clan that by some reason (maybe it's the environment, maybe some mutation) produced passive, weak willed and feeble orks, while grots appeared to grow smart and resourceful. Finally Slowpoka orchestrated the deaths of all somehow worthy ork leaders and took over the clan... Since then all orks that grow to the clan received explosive packed collars to ensure their obedience I have concepts of regular, not upright orks for their bunch that they use as brute force.

Some more images before I'll go sculpting again...
§ M005 TAG Tactical Armour Gauntlets
Original tau design was reinforced with the same flexible armour plating used on other parts. One gauntlet features a wrist mounted digital multi tool that provide access to all suit's systems, energy distribution, communication and various hacking protocols for all human-made interfaces and even some of alien origin.
As you can see I altered fingers on both hands to match human pattern. On the left hand I cheated and instead of making separate fingers I just removed a layer of original crappy finger-sculpt and made my own. I figured that that would be a better solution considering supposed casting, providing less fragile and more universal grip.

good idea with the finger conversions... and seeing the supatool... i think you need to do an arm with an opened tool...if you know what i mean... interface working and so on...
yes i see that these are essential!...for your own good... do lots of them with variable uses... converters nightmare is to search fruitlessly for suitable hands^^
Doubt none here as for the clan issue clear and understood love the obedience collars
As for the sculpts looking cool especially the first pic really rocking that, these are going to bee some evil kitted crews the possibilities are endless.
You can sculpt me these up if you like, just to paint a few up would be pretty good fun, plus black is my favourite paint colour LOL
Up right Orks you say

Cool stuff. You know that there is speculation that the Necromunda Spyrer suits use Tau technology? You might be able to tie in some elements with those.

Yes, I did try it higher but it did not look right, plus it looked to human and I still want an Ork feel to him, also there is something else to add yet
When it gets done I will show you then it will make sense

Subject: Re:Totally Storag - some more gear for Syndicate (29/09)
Guys, I'm leaving for a work trip today so there won't be any pics till weekend :(
But I've been blowing dust from my old Ipod and found a year old concept fluff on Synapse net structure. Be warned though - lots of abbreviations and quasi-scientific nonsense... Venture on your own risk
Spoiler:
The name of the organization originates from technology that alows them to quickly coordinate the efforts of their subordinates scattered across the space while maintaining unparalleled level of security -the Synapse Link.
Technological base: Combining Imperial technologies of psychic hood and life support with Tau knowledge on data transfer and AI systems syndicate's scientists developed a series of implants called Synapse Links or just Links.
When integrated into wearers neural system this modules adjust functions of brain cortex zones responsible for pchycic activities and sensitive experience. The advanced AI is used to process and structure information aggregated by bearers organism in to packages of digital data and send them through the warp utilizing natural ability of all living organisms to emanete and comprehend psychic waves. The build in amplifier empowers this emanations so that even an average person without psychic potential can emit planet-wide. Sophisticated data transfer protocols ensures that information is encripted and the frequency they operate on is secure.
Together all users equiped with different types of Link modules form a semi-organic network, known as the Nexus, able to exchange data between nodes at unmatched speed allowing knowledge processed by individual user at one end of the galaxy to be received by members of the net on the other end almost simultaneously. Theoretically, this anables an individual person to receive all experience, master every skill and learn entire knowledge gathered at the Nexus in an instant, but limitations of physiology will cause an overload of one's CNS that very moment and then death. Or madness, if lucky.
The Nexus structure: The net consists of individual users called Nodes ranked into three levels by their power and functions. A unit comprised around single level 3 node is called a Cluster. Each Cluster is fully autonomic and share the same knowledge bank as other Clusters thus even if one or more clusters collapses the whole net remains operational and very little data is lost. Node's rank is determined by the type of augmentation device used. Evidently there are three categories of such hardware, called Links.
SLR (Synapse Link Receiver) - the most basic of all Links given to field operatives who has low or none psychic potential. This device is a tiny cybernetic implant connected to bearers neural system and linked to one of the high ranking Nodes allowing him co comprehend data transferred by psychic means. SLR also gather any raw sensitive data aggregated by the user and transmit it to the linked supperior. Above this, implant provides high tech interfaces and protocols for secure low range communication. Inside organization SLR users are known as R-Nodes.
PAC (Psyche Amplifying Conductor) - this type of Links are given to high ranking operatives possessing a considerable amount of psychic power and may vary in appearance because they are designed to compliment their bearer in a best way possible. They all, however, are external devices cybernaticaly attached to their users neural system. In many ways PACs resemble Imperial psychic hoods - they too allow Psyker to focus and channel their powers but more importantly they allow to use this powers to communicate and transfer information at great distances with a speed of thought. Given special training a psyker with PAC can act like a living wireless router providing access to the Nexus for all SLR users linked to him, transferring their data to cluster's lvl 3 Node and back to his subordinates. PAC has a build in AI to help him process such enormous amounts of information and react to the most relevant stimulus immediately. The reach of a PAC-equipped psyker is limited by the transmitter power. Both his and those he try to contact. For example a SLR transmitter is relatively weak hence a stable connection can be established only on a planetary scale but lvl 3 Nodes are equipped with very powerful transmitters and can sustain a steady link with PAC anywhere inside the sector. As for the direct connection between two PACs - it is only available through standard protocols because Synapse Link between them is prohibited by Nexus design as insecure due to many problems associated with breaking the communication chain, altogether known as the Echo effect. The nature of this effect lies within how Link modules receive, process and transmit data - they do it simultaneously and seamlessly so virtually you can tell that lvl 2 Node knows everything that is known to his linked lvl 1s - this is a lot of data to process even with AI assistance and every PAC psyker is limited in number of linked SLRs by his own power. The moment he attempts to contact another PAC their modules will be overloaded with a double amount of info causing massive brain damage to both and sending two identical data packages further to the net, creating an echo-like signal that disrupts synchronization processes inside the Nexus. Syndicate members refer to PAC users as C-Nodes, Synapses or Amps.
LMN (Link Magnifying Node) - this Link type is a facility based around a body of a powerful psyker who's life is supported by the same kind of technology used for Space Marine dreadnoughts and outfitted with advanced AI, powerful long range transmitter and a vast data storage. All this equipment occupies a medium size chamber and therefore can only be found on a ground base or a capital ship where it serves as a local overseer managing different aspects of installation functioning and assisting staff in their duties. Each LMN is connected to other LMN units within it's transmitting range and altogether they form the frame of the Nexus. Their powerful transmitters allows them to maintain a stable realtime conduit through several sectors and even at greater distances delay is minor. This undead constructs do all the job of sorting, cataloging and storing immense amounts of knowledge passing through the Nexus. They have full access to information stored at net's databanks and handle all requests for specific info. They are commonly named M-Nodes or Lenses.
General features: All Synapse Link modules share several traits in common.
The major one - their bearers become immune to all mind confusing effects based on psychic warp-energies since this modules are connected to the brain cortex zones that control psychic activities and tune them to comprehend only specially encrypted frequency used by the Nexus.
The second noteable feature is their complex fail-safe system that prevents tech from capturing and ensures hundred percent loyalty within it's ranks. Each module is equipped with a small melta charge that explode destroying itself as well as melting a sizable hole in users brain when system registry no vitals or signs of behavior considered disloyal and threatening.
Links also help psykers conceal their powers in presence of those undesirable, like members of the inquisition.

Based on the tau pulse carbine this assault rifle can, by every standard, be considered the best standard issue firearm in it's class. As well as the pulse rifle it was re-designed to use the standard imperial lasgun ammo. The new targeting system was installed to complement with new armor interfaces and offer the best on-the-run shooting experience. An ammo tracking monitor is now mounted to the weapon for when no HUD is available. The most notable modification affected the mounted photon granade launcher which was replaced by a chainblade to offer agents a seamless transaction from ranged to close combat in which heavily augmented humans are far more capable than smaller and lightly-build tau. After all modifications this weapon offers an unmatched combination of considerable firepower, high firing rate, accuracy, cheap universal ammo and close combat functionality.
§ M006 TAB Mk1 Tactical Armoured Boots
This boots are protected with the same flexible plating used on the other parts of the suit and equiped with a limited gravity alteration system that allows wearer to stick to surface in low gravity enviroments and avoid falling damage when descending from moderate hights or jump longer distances.
As you can see I made the knee pads larger to better fit human bulkier anatomy. The 2 stripes on the right pad is a mark of agents standing within the Syndicates ranks and the arrow on the left is his team's sign. Here is a list of some Syndicate ranks I already invented:
Spoiler:
The first capital letter define the branch and the number indicates the standing within from lower to higher number.
C - command
F - field operation
U - undercover
R - research
M - maintenance
F1 - rookie - blank pad
F2 - crewmen
F3 - operative - two vertical stripes
F4 - chief
F5 - master chief
F6 - commander
I also completed the back power utit on the torso and will add some pics really soon
Comments please!

Ok first thing read the fluff after reading twice I think I have got the jist of it and general understanding of the workings and controlling aspects.
Overall interesting concept I like the chain of command, the backup plan for control of data is great idea and also installs obedience between PACS
Now for the conversions I like the look of the close combat Rifle but I think the combat blade has a couple of issues, 1 if it is a chainblade (as in a chainsaw ) the teeth would be housed in side part of the unit and looking at your conversion this does not look right.
If it is just a jagged toothed blade I would add some kind of support to the top of the blade where it meets the rifle, i.e. white PC meets Grey Tau rifle section.
The Tac armoured Boots are developing well, although the lower feet section looks odd as if the foot section is a bit short, I know its Tau tech they are using but are these not for other races as well ?
Also I cant figure out why you would have unit markings on the knee pads, it just does not add up to me ? Shoulder pads, arms, hats and helmet markings but knees seems an odd choice.
Pics to explain the housing of the chain on the chainblade if it is meant to be a running blade :

First, the chain blade, I've been studing the same GoW Lancer image you've posted mate when doing it. That's Is an issue between scale and realism - The blade is made of 3 PC sheets and teeth are the middle layer while other two serve as a protective case and frame. I wanted to sculpt a extra case on the tip as seen on the pic below but it just looks to heavy and unwieldy and not in tau style and that given I can sculpt pretty thin =\ I think propper painting can make up for this issue so the case won't blend with teeth and if not I can always cut off the first tooth to make the housing more obvious.
Second the boots. I think you just used to the "heroic" GW human proportions. Actually the feets are a bit longer than they should be according to the hips length and volume which is the starting point in the sculpting case. They look shorter because the shin part is wide and massive with all the armour and gravity mashinery inside. I compared the boots size and feet length in particular to several IG models and they are perfectly in human scale given that GW human parts size is rather inconsistent I hope the assembled pics will solve the issue.
And the knee pads... Can you tell why SM have the squad and other markings on the knee? It's the only rather big flat surface on the model and it looks less boring with markings. While these markings aren't vital I don't loose anything if the model is kneeled or if they aren't somehow visible but that adds to the look if the model stands tall. Having this markings sculpted on the knees doesn't mean they can't be painted anywhere else
Hope I cleared this up for you LDD
-EDIT-
I've just chopped the first tooth on the blade and it looks better this way! That's what C&C are for!
