A new update with WIPs, and concepts. KS backers can add extras on the Mierce website until 8th March
(remember if we hit 125K each backer will get a Beowa in human & bear form... Current total £121,496.71, so only 3504 to go)
UPDATE
With just a week to go we have some cracking things to show you - the concept art for Torku, Jowan of Carn Dhu and his Drune-Hounds and a rough of Beowa for a start, as well as more Works in Progress with the finished Carrowek on horseback, more detailed Duguth, another Tarvax and the last Dyndraig warrior!
Let's show you the concept artwork for Jowan of Carn Dhu first, drawn by Danny Cruz, and it really is a thing of beauty. We think it's Danny's best work for us so far - let us know what you think!
Danny's also provided the artwork for Torku for us - this will be sculpted by Stéphane NGuyen van Gioi:
Lastly on the concept front, Des Hanley has given us a rough of Beowa in both forms:
Right, on to work in progress images!
Stéphane Simon (who we hope to tie down for Jowan and Hounds) has finished Carrowek on horseback and we think he's done an awesome job. Carrowek on foot is blimmin' amazing, but just have a look at Carrowek on horse!
The last remaining Dyndraig to be sculpted by Roberto Chaudon is finished also. Check him out - he's possibly the best of the lot!
Following on from the Duguth last time, here's an update on what Juan Navarro Pérez has been up to...
Lastly, but certainly not leastly, here's the Gultain Tarvax - Raakanasck - sculpted by Benoît Cosse!
Still to come in terms of concepts is Druc, and there'll be plenty of WIPs to come too!

Carrowek is so beastly he's definitely my chaos lord proxy. Archaeon more like it.
Jowan looks great, but I am still waiting to see how Druc turns out.

All awesome. But, the bottom picture of the Tarvax (minotaur) looks a bit too much like the already existing champion. It's a bit of a shame.

Also, both Minotaurs suffer from *extremely bad hand positioning*.
The sculptor (or the Minotaurs themselves) obviously has never held a weapon with the intent to strike.
When doing so both hands must be positioned in the same direction (knuckles facing front) or else, when cutting, you have to rotate the lower hand - loosing most of the momentum of the attack.
The Dyndraig nails this though. Automatically Appended Next Post: Anybody know when us non-KS-backers can order minis from the Mierce KS?
I am interested in the new Hydra...

Too much pretty stuff - the Dyndraig look awesome (glad they are one of my starters). The Angelcynn Duguth also look fabulous. I wish I had more money to drop on this!

Benoit Cosse is a god. "Hand positioning" is like #5036 on my list of priorities when judging a miniature.

I went with the Khthones starter set, mainly because Stephane Simon will be realizing them. But I do agree that the Dyndraig dragon-men looks quite stunning!

I am interested in the new Hydra...
I guess if you KNOW about stuff it can be annoying when it's not depicted right
(one of the reasons why I can't watch CSI Miami/New York is the just plain made up forensics, as opposed to vegas where they're real but speeded up & performed by folk who can't handle the kit)
As to buying the minis outside of KS I think they should appear in the Mierce webstore soon after the KS stuff ships to backers (and they'll apparently go in batches with the starters)
April for Ysian Brythonaid, Tarvrax & Sronax starter
June for Angelcyn starter
May for Norse starter
September for Kthones starter

EDIT: (oops it's a new update, not me speaking here)
Even though it's Sunday and I should be doing family things I just can't keep this in. Des Hanley's concept art for Beowa, Once-Thegn of Northumbera popped into my inbox this morning and... well. I'll let the art speak for itself...
Beowa, human form
Beowa, bear form
We currently stand at £123,054.02 - so only £2,000 to go before each backer who has chosen at least one Starter Set will get him. Beowa in both forms should be sculpted by Benoît Cosse so we are extremely excited about him!
One last thing: here's a rough for Druc, Meat-Hulk from Danny Cruz. It's certainly a rough, but it should also show you the direction he's going in...

Completely finished, although you might want to contact Mierce at kickstarter@mierce-miniatures.com to see if you can join in. Can't hurt.
I am thinking we'll make Beowa no worries.

They're just doing post pledge bumping for current backers- not sure if they're taking on new backers as the kickstarter ended a bit ago (but the updates certainly don't sound like it has ended ).

they're still updating via KS
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mierceminiatures/darklands-a-world-of-war/comments
and they've got a forum up and running too
http://www.mierce-miniatures.com/forum/index.php
Edit: If you are interested do drop them a line via the KS comments to see if you can still get involved:
All money added in the pledge manager still counts towards the last stretch goal, and we need another £2K by 8th March to get Beowa in human & bear form free for every backer ordering at least on starter (1 per backer, not 1 per starter set)

Thanks for the answer. It appears that only backers can post on the KS comments section and as it stands right now, I cannot make a pledge on KS.

You can't pledge via KS,
but if you can click on the 'contact me' link on the right hand side by the mierce miniatures logo
If you ask Mierce may (and I can't say they will) give you access to the post KS pledge manager running on their website giving you access to the KS prices
worth a try if you're interested (you'll need a Credit Card for this)

Did you actually buy through the kickstarter on the store, or regularly through the store?
It makes a difference. There is a good amount of discount available through the kickstarter.

MASSIVE amounts of discounts. And they've already started shipping the 'available now' models, there are reports of people having gotten shipments.

I got this lot through the KS, as all it does is basically credit you money to the value of your pledge to Mierces webstore.

@Rick - no worries, glad you understand.
...and don't worry about Beowa - we're going to make him, we're close enough ;o)
so anybody pledging for one or more starters should be getting Beowa in human & bear form (and since I think he acts as a mercenary he should be playable whatever faction you're interested in)

I have been impressed with how Mierce has run this KS. Most companies go AWOL after they get your money. Mierce has been working hard to build a community, keep us updated and respond to everyone's questions.
