I've been reading a lot of wh40k lore lately and after coming across trazyn the infinite's lore , I was wondering is there any other really cool pieces of lore? Like the fact that he potentially has a primarch captured is amazing to me. Is there anything else potentially amazing like that ? Or just really cool lesser known facts?

Thanks

Angron toppling over a Warhound was pretty funny.

Primarch feats in general. Corax beating up 12 Dreadnoughts, Guilliman surviving in vacuum and punching his foes to death...

Before it was retconned I quite liked the idea that even novice Eldar psykers were more powerful than the Emperor.

I also like anything to do with machine spirits doing wacky sh .

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

I like how much anguish this piece of lore gets considering GW's never been consistant with the story, and we've yet to see the actual events happen.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Its been as consistent as anything else from the original fluff they have chosen to change in recent years.

Not sure what you mean by yet to see the actual events? Are you meaning an HH book about it? Not sure why that gives any more weight to an issue.

I don't have a particular favourite bit of lore per ser, but I tend to like the lore that lends itself to lots of interpretation and extrapolation on the part of the fan base.

That's why I like the whole concept of the Two Missing Primarchs interests me so much. (If I was forced to pick, this would probably be my favourite bit of fluff).

the old fluff of mortarion planning to pop out of the warp at terra and fire upon the traitor fleet before Typhus killed all the navigators and did his thing.

eyup! way back when (I wanna say early 90's) white dwarf had an article detailing that he was pissed at horus (i.e. found out about the half truths), upset with all the sorcerors happening, and figured out stuff about daemons and was all "nope, not worth it, I'll hit the traitors and hopefully won't be executed" then Typhus was a dick.

even in the new fluff, Mortarion is iffy on the whole "traitors" thing, he's just too good of a buddy with Horus and Curze.

Very much this.
I know a lot of people at Dakka get sick of a new missing primarch thread appearing every month but this very question is what brought me to Dakka in the first place and I'm sure it will continue to do so for other newbies.

All the fluff surrounding Ahrihman I think is awesome! It interests me so much and think there are awesome stories there where he shows his true mastery of the warp and the time traveling shenanigans he pulls.. As a previous poster said - the rarest fluff is when Chaos is bad ass!

978.M41 The Lost WAAAGH! - The Ork Warlord Grizgutz, a noted kleptomaniac, launches his WAAAGH! into the Morloq System. Whilst using Warp travel to reach their quarry, Grizgutz and his warband unwittingly travel through time and emerge from the shifting chaos of the Empyrean shortly before they set off. Grizgutz hunts down and kills his doppelganger, reasoning that this way he can have a spare of his favourite gun. The resultant confusion stops the WAAAGH! in its tracks.

Comedy gold.

I don't really have a favourite, but one of the odder ones is Sevatar getting his pilot buddy to fly him through the void. While he's on the wing. While she's dog-fighting. No clue how it works, but if it kills more Dark Angels I'll take it

Ah, a reference to truly classic sci-fi.

One of my favourites is probably the Callidus Assassin who infiltrated a pleasure cult to assassinate its leader, found him lounging mostly naked on a bed surrounded by spent partners and oils, went to stab him with her C'tan Phase Knife... and watched it vanish into him as he absorbed the knife completely.

At which point the 'cult leader' was like... "yoink. I love being made of necrodermis. Nice disguise. Mine's better." and turned out to be the Deceiver on holiday before ripping out her soul and eating it.

Two of my favourite book series recently:

The Ahriman trilogy. Because it's just an amazing Tzeenchian Mind-Twist. Some noticeable features:

~ Ahriman has a 'Sherlock-esque' Mind Palace. Except he's such a gifted telepath he essentially has Xerox copies of the mind-states some individuals loose in his subconscious psyche. One of which is aware they're a mental afterimage of a dead person. And find themselves having a conversation with what is essentially a second figment of Azhek's imagination.

~ Ahriman was banished from the Planet of Sorcerors. Not in a sense of 'go away' but as in a sorcerous forbidding from Magnus himself to prevent him ever finding it again. Which means getting back there means he has to come up with one of the most epic and ballsy plans I've seen in a 40k book and one I have no intention of spoiling.

~ The Thousand Sons legion at no-holds-barred (civil) war. Yeah......they got scary(er).

~ A conspiracy/shadow war contested between the Master Of The Planet Of Sorcerors, Magnus The Red, and The Crimson King. Who are three separate individuals. Ish.

~ Tzeench himself essentially saying "....actually, don't kill him yet. Because I'm not sure what the **** he just did."

The Priests Of Mars series:

~ You get to see the different factions of the Imperium actually co-operating. I mean, they bicker a bit, but they actually work together. The Black Templars and Mechanicus genuinely earning one another's respect is cool, and the reconfigurable training decks giving the cadians the edge by shifting to resemble a map of Vogen - the city from the original Cityfight Codex - and a battle whose strategies the Cadians do as a case study in school - is very cool.

~ Archmagos Kotov. Because he's just very, very smart.

As two bolt-ons to the first series, Atlas Infernal - it's a story about Ahriman and Czevak, and very well written. Plus Talon Of Horus, which goes a long way to making Abbadon bad-ass compared to the choleric muppet you sometimes see in the Heresy books.

Termagants expended for the Hive Mind: ~2835
