Sale! Which Battle Packs would people recommend? I would love some nice scenarios to play beyond the original big book I have now, maybe Times of War as well. Don't really care about Batallions. Looks to me like the Realmgate books have a ton of stuff, are they all worth buying or does one stand out?

What sale? Where? Sorry don't know nothing about Battle Packs so will be looking at this thread closely.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Cool. Waiting for recommendations too, but considering Godbeasts as I heard that was a good one.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Battlepacks for the main campaign books would be the best buy; the battletomes are specific to a certain faction but the Realmgate Wars ones work well with anyone. Godbeasts is going to be very good if you want to include more than 2 people in a game. It also includes two pairs of 'linked' scenarios where the outcome of the first has an effect on the second; these can be played at the same time (2 people playing each scenario) or one-after-another. Quest for Ghal Maraz and Balance of Power also have good sets of scenarios, while the main rulebook is a bit weaker in that regard. If you are looking for Times of War then Balance of Power and Godbeasts are both good while the main rulebook and Quest's are a bit weaker. As for battalions, well, it depends on what you play If anyone wants to know what a battalion does I can give an overview.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

If you're looking for scenarios I can definitely recommend Balance of Power. Why? It has the most diverse board configurations for the missions. It is a breath of fresh air for those that are tired of the usual 72"/48" table setup. All of them (P.S. - 4) require 6 board pieces (at most) (24"/24") so you can assemble the table shape for the battleplan

Hmm, so is balance for power only good if you have a RoB or similar modular 2' x 2' segments?

Well, to be honest you'd only really need them for the zig-zag shaped scenario. The others just cut out various parts of the standard table so I guess you can just ignore them. I know I can't though... For me the edge of the table is the end of the world
P.S. Actually my statement was mostly wrong - you only need 2'/2' pieces for the zig zag mission - my bad...

I've been considering maybe getting one or more of those Battlepacks while they are still on sale. But one thing I was wondering about, is if its possible to print the Battlepacks?

I have a smartphone, but not a tablet, and I think the phone is too small for really working well for this type of content.

Smartphones work pretty well for the AoS app. I agree that printing is also a good idea, but haven't tried it yet.
