Im curious, what do people here prefer for carrying your models around? I have tried myself to do a miniature display board, I tended to prefer my magnet board so my models do not fall off.
As much as I love painting, and would love a display board, especially a cool one, I love my models not falling even more.

Display boards are mandatory for tourneys. No one has time to in and out models from a case 10-15 times.

It is just how it is done. Of course, there is chance for epic destruction, but the risk saves so much time.

Cookie pans and magnetic bottoms are a great solution.

I take a flat cookie sheet, and pound it even flatter with a hammer so it can slide right inside my army case. Then I magnetize my models' bases so they stick to it.

Definitely function over form. I hate carrying around more than I have to, so the cleaner and simpler, the better.

Or you can take on the best of both worlds like I did.

The flat parts on the display board have a layer of 22 gauge sheet metal (cost $10) and all my troopers have magnets under their bases (doubles as extra weight). Now I'm able to walk around and even rotate the board with no worries.

I use one of these:

(Similar products available from Home/Storage stores, hardware stores, IKEA etc)

My display board has hooks to hang off the side of the trolley, rulebooks etc go on the bottom level, and minis on the trolley can be easily wheeled between games.
