Ultramarine Land Raider Pilot on Cruise Control

Macragge

Okay, so I've been seeing a lot of really cool HH stuff on dakka ever since Betrayal at Calth came out and that inspired me to start some 30k stuff of my own. I have several boxes that I originally intended to use in my retro-blog, but finally decided to just use as their intended Ultramarines vs. Word bearers showdown. I've also been toying with the idea of some Salamanders, Sons of Horus, Iron Warriors and Emperor's Children,, all as the fit takes me. First up were the cataphractii Terminators,

I'm pretty happy with how these guys turned out, although the decals in thier box were misprints so I ended up having to freehand the squad and chapter markings. Not the tidiest job I've ever done, but it works well enough.
After that, I did a combat squad of Word Bearers. I decided to give them the metal face-plates like the cover art for the box which I think looks better than the red.

Still need to do some decals for these guys, but I'm going to have to ebay some or cannibalize one of my other boxes to avoid them shredding.

Lastly, I've started work on one of the UM veteran squads.

I didn't like the way they suggest the sgt. be painted (with the gold torso, white helmet, etc) so decided on my own take instead. I also decided to intersperse heads from the blood angels kits to give a more roman look to the bare-headed marines.
Well that's it for today, more to come soon. C& C always welcome.
cheers
