I like a lot of old characters, and there's a lot of very iconic or just generally major characters there, should I assume they no longer exist in AoS?

For example, now that Tomb Kings and Bretonnia have been Squatted, should I assume The Green Knight, Louen Lencour, Settra, Khalida and such are gone from the fluff? What about the nations themselves? Were there never Tomb Kings? Never Bretonnians? Never Gnoblars? Etc

And of the races on the store, are all the characters not there dead? For example all the Orc, Goblin and Ogre characters are gone and the only one left is Gordrakk (can we expect new named characters in future updates? What happened to Grimgore and a few others considering he was alive at the end of fantasy?)

Heck in terms of named characters that survived and have models, we have Volkmar Grimm, Lord Kroak, Archaon, Kairos Fateweaver, Thanquol, Epidemius, The Blue Scribes, Be'lakor (boo!), Valkia, The Changeling, Nagash, Neferata, Mannfred, Durthu and Scyla.

And Bloab, Orghotts, Globidex, Glottkin, which I barely want to count since they were introduced during The End Times

And then Skarr, Festus and Gordrakk were introduced since. Can we expect more named characters to be added?

Will characters we know survived but haven't got models likely get them like Malerion and Morathi?

Are all the characters not listed gone for good? There seems so many big names just up and gone, Grombrindal coming most notably to mind, but also Grimgore, Golgfag, Greasus, Skarsnik, Queek, Thorgrim, Bugman, Gotrek, Felix, Teclis, Vlad and Isabella, Mazdamundi, Ariel, Orion and many more

Characters from the Forge World range, are they all non-canon now? Skaarac, Tamurkhan, Drazhoath, Lietpold, Taur'Ruk, Kazyk, Van Der Kraal, Sayl and Nightmaw?

And finally, is there anyone not from the established lands left alive? I've always liked the areas of the old world that didn't get focus, Albion, Nippon, Cathay, Tilea, Kislev, Estalia, Araby, Ind, Sea Elves (if they exist), Amazons, Hobgoblins, Norsca, Fimir, Zoats? What happened to all these?

Sorry if this is a little long winded and rambling, I'm honestly trying to wrap my head around this new setting

Indeed, the majority of those lot are deceased. (Which actually brings up the question if they're in the realm of death? Or possibly chaos...)

The current setting takes place thousands of years after the old world was consumed by chaos and centuries afterward Sigmar was able to revive the spirits that clung to it's core and built a celestial city that surrounds the world's molten remains.

So even if those characters were resurrected they'd be gone by the time the current timeline occurs.

The only remaining characters are those favored by chaos, became demigods due to the errant winds of magic from the End Times or are undead.

Despite some having no models, there are some surprising comebacks like Ushoran of the Flesh-Eater court. The fimir seem to have survived as well if the new warhammerfest models are any indication.

It remains to be seen if any other characters reappear due to undeath, supernatural means or taking a wrong step into the realm of chaos.

Holy Terra.

What seems odd to me is that Tomb Kings are in every other WD. And in the Webstore Blog.

In some of the old editions they were a separate force and I was always a big fan of the idea of Sea Elves

Anything is possible. GW can bring back anyone at anytime they feel like it.

Hell the Sepheron can just dream back people that lived thousands of years ago. So anything is possible.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Durthu is dead. He still has rules, but he died during the End Times--and his death was pretty final. Volkmar Grimm is also dead.

Malerion is not Malekith. He USED to be Malekith, but he is not an Aelf anymore. What little we know of him is that he has become something 'more'.

Ariel and Orion died during the End Times--and did not come back.

Ariel's death is what imbued Alarielle wih her powers.
