I have a rather large project I'm hoping to begin soon: A 1:200 scale model of HMS Nelson I treated myself to a while back. The kit's the largest and most complicated thing I'll have ever built and I'd love to post my progress on here in the form of a blog.
However, I'm wondering if this is permitted as technically it's not a wargaming piece, rather a static WWII display. I know it sounds like a small difference but I'd love to get some clarification on this beforehand.

Thanks.

I've "managed" to get many non-wargaming modelling projects into the DDakka gallery with few problems.

The important part, to me, is the word "modelling". The skills and techniques used to build and paint any model is relevant to wargaming models as they are mainly the same.

Also, the P&M blogs section is generally quite relaxed about what is discussed in a blog. A non-wargaming model is perfectly fine from what I've seen.

The only problem DD has with non-wargaming subjects is having said things uploaded to the gallery. But there is no problem with pictures if they are hosted elsewhere (e.g. facebook). So that can be used if you want to stray further from wargaming in your blog.

But, as I said, a model is a model, and therefore is relevant to wargaming.

Just note that this is my experience and I am not a moderator, so I'm not an official spokesperson for DD.

Good luck with the model.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

I have an entire section in my gallery devoted to non-wargaming scale models and it's never been a problem.

And some, I assume, are good people."
