I have seen previous debates on this but I would like to know if anyone has any clarification on whether or not Green Tide is a valid formations still?

Yes GW did say that the Green Tide for the first Ghaz book is still good to be used. You still might want to check with your opponent or TO for an event to make sure.

Armies:
The Iron Waagh: 10,000+ 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-7-1
Salamanders: 5,000 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-2
Ultramarines: 4,000
Armored Battle Company (DKoK): 4000
Elysians: 500
Khorne Daemons: 2500

Ghaz, your link just leads back to this thread.

anywho - from the FAQ First Draft:
Q: Can you still take Formations or models that are no longer available, like the Void Shield Generator (an out-of-production model) or the Skyhammer Annihilation Force Formation (an out-of-print Formation)?
A: Yes.
So you may still field a Green Tide, even though it is no longer in print.

It might also be worth mentioning that the Great Waaagh! detachment can be used again as well. I saw on the Warhammer 40k Facebook page someone asked about using the formations and detachment from V1 of the Ghaz book as well as taking Ghaz as a CAD and they were told they could since the detachment and formations are still 7th edition.
